JUNE 18, 2017 PAGE 3 From the Pastor s Desk The Pastor Answers My dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Today we are celebrating the Feast of Corpus Christi, a day when we reflect on the Eucharist. I hope that many will be able to process with us following the 11:30 Mass. Jesus, in His great Love for us, gives us His very Body and Blood, to nourish us in our Faith. What a blessing is ours. Recently we received a note commenting on the condition of the ladies restroom in the church. I spoke with our maintenance department and steps are being made to improve the situation. Thank you for your suggestions. Next week we will be celebrating our Patronal Feast: The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. We will be using the prayers and readings from the Feast instead of those for next Sunday. The readings will be Dt 7:6-11, 1 Jn 4:7-16 and Mt 11:25-30. I would also like to offer my prayers and best wishes to all of our Fathers, Grandfathers and Godfathers today. May it be a day filled with many blessings for you. May God s blessings be yours on this the Feast of Corpus Christi, Fr. Ireland Let us pray for Rita L. Janor of our parish community who passed away this week. May she find eternal rest with the Lord. And may God in His Mercy, grant comfort and peace to her family and friends who now mourn her death. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shime upon her May she rest in peace. Amen. May her soul and all the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. Wedding Banns II. Eric Andrew Lonczak of St. Barnabas Parish and Susan Marie Fink of St. Rita s Parish Father's Day Blessing Single fathers usually sit in the back row of their children's school performances. Fathers who are married usually sit as close to the front of the audiences, with their spouses. Why is this? Well, we all know how important mothers are to the wellbeing of a family. However, we as a culture look at single fathers with a bit of suspicion. Fathers are as important as mothers are, but offer a different perspective on life and bring a much needed role in bringing up children. Let us welcome all fathers today to the front row of our lives and acknowledge how important they have been, and continue to be in our lives. God our Father, in Your wisdom and love You made all things. Bless all fathers that they may be strengthened as Christian fathers. Let the example of their faith and love shine forth. Grant that we, their sons and daughters, may honor them always with a spirit of profound respect. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
