THE EAGLES VIEW Worthy Brothers, AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2016 ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST COUNCIL 11421 BOCA RATON, Fl. THESE MEN THEY CALL KNIGHTS Thank you to all of my brother Knights, for allowing me to serve as your Grand Knight, and I look forward to another successful year for our council. We achieved Star Council again for 2015-2016, and with your help will again meet our goals and continue our Star Council run. Our goal for 2016-2017 is 9 new members and 3 insurance members. I am challenging every officer to bring one new friend, relative, or neighbor into our council, and challenging all of my other brothers to join with the officers to make this a great recruiting year. We will discuss this in our next meeting, to ensure we don t wait for the last minute to meet our goals. There is nothing more satisfying than to work side by side with a brother Knight doing God s work for the betterment of our church and mankind. I encourage you to make a commitment to one or more of the following upcoming events: August 27 Boca Helping Hands September 18 Pancake Breakfast October 29 Spaghetti Dinner Our breakfasts and dinners last year were very successful, and I know we can build on that foundation. Thanks to all Knights who participated in these activities in the past. Remember: it is bringing everyone together and sharing our time and talents that makes all things possible through God. Vivat Jesus! Mike Lungarini Grand Knight IN SOLIDARITY WITH OUR PRIESTS 1

The 2016-2017 second due notices of $30.00 were sent out in mid-july. If you have any delinquent dues, your amount will reflect them. Please pay promptly so that any additional notices do not have to be generated and we do not incur additional postage expense. As of 7/25/16, 35 members have paid with 73 still outstanding. Again, this year in order to save postage costs your membership card is available for pickup every Saturday or Sunday on the counter at the right side of the Church vestibule. Look for a blue index card box. Also your card is available for pick up at our monthly meeting held on the 2nd Monday of every month. If you are unable to pick up your card please contact the Financial Secretary at your earliest convenience to make other arrangements. We need to hear from those who are delinquent. If you have reason for not paying your dues please contact our Retention Chairman Larry Bower at 954-520-1713. We can usually work out some kind of arrangement in strict confidence. Also we are in need of a membership director; please speak to Grand Knight Michael if you are interested in the position.
