The NJ Governor s Budget for Fiscal Year 2019 (2018-19 school year) cut the ceiling for non-public school transportation from $1,000 to $884.00. Last year, the Legislature increased that ceiling to $1,000 per pupil. Restoring this transportation ceiling is our TOP PRIOITY! Also, the funding for Non-Public Scholl Nursing and Technology accounts that were provided by the Legislature for the 2017-18 school year (a total of $3.8 million) were cut by Governor Murphy in the proposed FY 2019 Budget. WHAT CAN YOU DO? Please ask your State Legislators to restore the ceiling for non-public school transportation to last year s amount of $1,000, and restore the amount for nursing and technology to at least the amounts of the 2018-18 school year. Ask your legislators to encourage their colleagues on the Budget Committee to restore the funding to at least the 2017-18 amounts. Please contact Senator Nilsa Cruz Perez, Assemblymembers Patricia Jones and Arthur Barclay at 856.547.4800. PLEASE CALL TODAY and THANK YOU for your support of Catholic Education.
