Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Intergenerational Parish Events - May 1, 2018-April 30, 2019 Families will be emailed at least once every 6 weeks or as needed for events that are added or changed. Red-event over Green-new event/updated information Black-no change/ongoing Guidelines 2018-19 This Diocesan initiated addition to the Faith Formation Programs has been in effect for a few years across the Diocese, but new to our Parish. According to the National Directory of Catechesis (NC 48.E.2), Catechesis which involves the whole family is a particularly effective method of catechesis for young children because it helps parents become more confident in sharing their faith with their children and encouraging their children s emerging faith -All children registered in the Faith Formation Program, whether they attend the summer, on-campus or Home Schooling Program, are required to attend 6 Parish offered Intergenerational Events with their families during the school year. -Ideally, all members of the family will attend the event together; but this is not mandatory. Grandparents and extended family may also be included and are encouraged to attend. -Depending on which events you choose to attend, there may be a cost involved in attending the event. There are many events offered with no cost to the family. -Some events may require registration and may have a maximum number of participants. -Service projects that are offered by the Faith Formation Program to the 7 th and 8 th graders for their Confirmation Service hour requirements can be also used as an Intergenerational Event if other family members participate. -Each child in the program will fill out an Intergenerational Events reflection Form (the form is at the bottom of the event chart below) after they have attended their 6 events and return it to the Parish Office. The reflection form is due before April 30, 2019 for all children in the program with the following exceptions: -The reflection form is due 21 days before the day of Confirmation for all children receiving Confirmation. -The reflection form is due before April 8 th for all children receiving First Holy Communion in April.
