Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time February 19, 2017

Campaign Newsletter Volume 7 February 18-19, 2017 Over the past few weeks we have had the honor and joy of hosting so many parishioners and friends at receptions about our Capital Campaign -- Our Church, Our School, Our Future. Many of you were able to see and hear firsthand from me, your pastor and Mrs. Ilski, our principal about our ongoing efforts to grow our parish and school building to meet the demands of this vibrant community. Parishioners and parents have had the opportunity to hear an update from the Campaign Chairs on the total amount pledged and collected so far, which is an amazing $5,430,628!! During these receptions we heard from parishioners and parents like yourself, who shared amazing stories about how much St. Theresa has meant to them and how they are committed to Our Church, Our School, Our Future Capital Campaign. Today, after each Mass, you will have an opportunity to pick up a Capital Campaign packet addressed to you or your family. I ask you to pray about our future and the role you can play. You will have an opportunity to make a difference and help us to realize these dreams for your church and school. I would love to have every parishioner and family participate in this campaign, so we ask you to offer the campaign prayer for its success and to consider a generous donation, which will be an offering in love and faith to our Generous God that has brought us this far on our journey as a parish. Please review the materials and prayerfully consider supporting our campaign, by returning the pledge envelope with your personally meaningful 3 or 5 year pledge between now and March 5 th. If we are to be successful, we will need every family to do their best in giving. I want to remind our younger parishioners, those up to 35 years old to join me on Fat Tuesday, February 21st at Russo's New York Pizzeria - 300 Gray Street, Houston, Texas 77002 for wine and drinks. As a group you have the potential to make a significant contribution to our campaign. For many of you this might be the first pledge of this kind you have ever made. I would love to speak with you about this powerful opportunity to make a personal difference in the life of your parish or worshipping community. This would be a wonderful expression of your faith and in the value of a faith based education. Please text: 713.829.5692 if you are able to attend. I would like to thank you in advance for your heartfelt and prayerful financial pledges and contributions and your support in making our Church and School a wonderful place to welcome pilgrims, edify the faithful, educate the young, and nurture vocations. I am extremely grateful for all of you for being a part of this faith community. - Father Phil

Online Giving Online Giving is an easy and flexible way to manage your donations to St. Theresa to make one-time or recurrent donations. There are several ways to access our online giving page: 1 Download a free QR code reader to your phone such as QR Scanner, QR Code Reader, Scan Barcode Pro and scan the image on the right: 2 You can also go directly on your smart phone or tablet to: www.sttheresa.cc/give 3 Use our electronic kiosk located in the Church Narthex, and swipe your credit or debit card directly. 4 Desktop users can login to our website www.sttheresa.cc, click on the Giving button on the top green navigation bar and select Donations. Matching Gift Programs Does your company offer a Matching Gift Program? Matching gift programs are when a company will match, usually dollar for dollar, a monetary donation made by an employee to a nonprofit. For example, if an employee of NRG donates $500 to St. Theresa, then NRG will match that gift, resulting in a total donation of $1,000. Some organizations would restrict contributions to religious organizations, but will allow them for education; our school would qualify for that category! It isn t just NRG, visit www.sttheresaschool.cc/matching-gifts for a list of some of the companies that have matching programs. You can double the impact of your contribution! Find out more about the matching program of your employer and register St. Theresa on their database. If you need help or more information, please contact Enrique Benitez at e.benitez@sttheresa.cc.

Fresh Flowers Needed We invite the parishioners of St. Theresa Catholic Church to sponsor altar flowers by choosing a weekend that has special meaning to you. Oftentimes, more than one person finds a certain date important, so flowers may be given in more than one name on any given weekend. Celebrate a variety of moments: In memory of a loved one, In celebration of a wedding anniversary, birthday, baptism or other special event In honor of someone special. We are also accepting donations specifically for Easter Sunday as well! Those donations can go into their specified envelope. For more information, please come into the church office for an order form and contribution at least two weekends prior to the weekend you would like the floral arrangement displayed. Divorce/ Separated Support Group If you are divorced, or just separated for the time being, please consider joining our support group. They meet quarterly on a group agreed upon date in The Bride s Room from 3 pm to 5:30 pm. Often it is the 3rd Sunday of each month. Currently, the group is discussing a book titled Crazy Time. The group offers support and encouragement to one another during a challenging station in life to see especially how Christ walks with us each day, and to trust His guidance and everlasting love. For more information, please contact Diane Whiteley: dianewhiteley54@yahoo.com
