Please send your bulletin information to bulletin@metrosdachurch.org. Thank you. No Metro Mid-week, Wed 28 th : Please plan to rejoin us, Jan. 4 th, as we dive deeper into "Ellen White Under Fire." So far we have learned that each of the criticisms of Ellen White are little more than a re-hash of unfounded criticisms from the 1800s. This week we began studying models of inspiration and how inspiration actually happens within the prophetic gift. Don't miss out. You will be blessed! Unlock Revelation II will continue Thursday, January 5 th at 7 pm. Please plan to join us as we wrap up this series together. Once this series is completed, the group will transition to a small group Bible study led by Stacey Francois and hosted at the home of Floyd and Pauline Conley on Friday evenings. Special Meditative Vespers: Sabbath, January 14th, 5:30 pm Flutist Melissa-Kay Grey, MM and pianist Naki Kripfgans DMA, share, through a meditative vespers, a luminous collection of music including a selection of birds and their characteristics from the Americas to Indonesia. In addition to these bird-like selections the duo will be performing colorful pieces including Barcarole and Scherzo by Alfredo Casella. The flute duo will be joined by Camille Aragones and Friends. Plan now to join in this special musical experience and bring a friend. Metro Missionaries for Lakes Area are needed for December 31 st. Please sign up to visit our sister church. Thank you. How many of you have ever attended a church school or academy in Michigan? How many of you have ever been to Camp Au Sable as a camper, Pathfinder, or for a weekend seminar? Have you ever been to Michigan Camp Meeting even for just one day? Have any of you ever been a part of an evangelist meeting in Michigan? Finally, have any of you ever attended a church in Michigan that was new or had a building program in progress? If so, you are the people that have experienced what MAP does in Michigan. All are affected by MAP in some way, and for some in multiple ways. Please give 1% or more of your income faithfully and cheerfully to MAP, knowing that there is no better partnership than partnering with God and with His people right here in the Michigan Conference. This morning our loose offering will be taken for Michigan Advance Partners. You may also use your tithe/offering envelope to donate to MAP. There is a designated line on the tithe/offering envelope for MAP donations. So thank you for sharing this morning and why not make a decision today to become a Michigan Advance Partner? -Jonathan Janevski, Lay Advisory Representative Church & School Address 15585 N. The Sounds of Christmas Metro SDA 2016 Christmas Program Christmas is a time of JOY. BELLS ring to remind us to give [BELLS] to charities. We RUSH to buy Christmas gifts. We SHAKE [CASTANETS QUICK CLICK] [SHAKER] our presents under the tree and we celebrate with holiday PARTIES. But in all the hustle and bustle of activity, let s [SHAKER/HORN/DRUM] QUIET our hearts for a few minutes to remember that very (shhh) first Christmas long ago. In a QUIET village a humble girl named Mary WALKED (shhh) [CASTANETS] about, doing her normal activity when an ANGEL stopped her and said, Don t be afraid. I bring news of great JOY. You will give birth to a BABY boy. An ANGEL also appeared to Joseph in a dream. He told Joseph to name the BABY Jesus because he would save people from their sins. Joseph and Mary were filled with JOY as they prepared to give birth to the new BABY, God s own son in human form. 1

The Sounds of Christmas - Page Two Before Jesus was born, the Roman king made an ANNOUNCEMENT. Everyone had to go to their hometown to [HORN] be registered. Joseph and Mary TRAVELLED to the village [CLIP-CLOP] of Bethlehem. When they got there they KNOCKED on the [KNOCK] door of an inn, but it was full. They KNOCKED on the door [KNOCK] of many inns, but none of them had room for the couple who would soon give birth to a BABY. Finally one innkeeper agreed to let them stay in his stable where COWS and DONKEYS usually slept. Before long Mary [MOO MOO] [HEE HAW] gave birth to a beautiful BABY boy and laid him in a manger where COWS and DONKEYS usually fed on hay. [MOO MOO] [HEE HAW] At the same time SHEPHERDS were watching their SHEEP [BAA BAA] [BAA BAA] on a nearby hillside. Suddenly a bright light shone in the sky and an ANGEL appeared to him. Don t be afraid, he said. I bring you news of great JOY for all people. Today a BABY has been born in Bethlehem. You will find him lying in a manger. 2

The Sounds of Christmas - Page Three Suddenly a great company of ANGELS joined the other ANGEL. They praised God with a song of WORSHIP. When [SING] the ANGELS left them the SHEPHERDS said, Let s go to [BAA BAA] Bethlehem and see this BABY. They left their SHEEP and [BAA BAA] RUSHED away to find Jesus and his parents. When they [CASTANETS QUICK CLICK] found him their hearts were filled with JOY too. They WORSHIPED the BABY and praised God for his birth. [SING] Then they RUSHED away to tell everyone the good news as [CASTANETS QUICK CLICK] they ANNOUNCED the birth of the BABY Jesus. [HORN] God put his own birth ANNOUNCEMENT in the sky in the [HORN] form of a special star. Wise Men saw the star and TRAVELED to Bethlehem in search of the BABY who had [CLIP-CLOP] now grown to be a young child. Sometimes the sun shone and the BIRDS sang. Sometimes the WIND blew and the [WHISTLE] [WHISTLE] RAIN beat down, but the Wise men kept on TRAVELING. [SHAKER] [CLIP-CLOP] When they found Jesus they WORSHIPED him and gave him [SING] expensive presents of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. 3

The Sounds of Christmas - Page Four The BABY grew to be a man. He did miracles, taught about God, and died for our sins. This was the first Christmas and Christ was the best present ever given. Today the Christmas season is still a time of JOY. We RUSH around in preparation and celebrate with fun [CASTANETS QUICK CLICK] PARTIES. The occasional church BELL still rings. But amid all [SHAKER/HORN/DRUM] [BELLS] the hustle and bustle we need to find time to QUIET our (shhh) hearts and fix our minds on the Lord Jesus. We need to come to him with JOY in our hearts and a song of WORSHIP. [SING] 4
