Jesus and the Twelve Committed to slow and devious learners The Lukan narrative binds the Mission of the Twelve and the Feeding of the 5000 (Lk 9.10) intended to be read together for mutual illumination. Look for aspects of the story which do not fit within the world of the unfolding narrative. Why are the apostles arguing with Jesus? What is the point of the twelve baskets of leftovers? The Key question in a narrative reading is what happens next? Look at Lk 9.18 - which reveals all.
