CALVARY OLD BRIDGE MINISTRY DIRECTORY

WELCOME! Whether you ve been to Calvary Chapel Old Bridge once or hundreds of times, we want to say welcome! We re excited that you ve come and are interested in learning more. The mission of Calvary Old Bridge is to exalt the Lord, equip the saints, and engage the culture around us for Jesus Christ. Coming to Calvary is designed to feel like meeting with family. Our goal is to help you find your niche, the place where you best connect with others and can use your gifts. This directory is designed to help familiarize you with the functions of the church and help you discover the ministries that can help create that greater sense of connection. We hope this directory will help make you more familiar with our ministries to encourage your connection. As you look through them, pray that God will show you the places you can connect and serve. We believe God will guide you to the places best suited to help you connect with His family here at Calvary Old Bridge. HOW TO GET CONNECTED? 1. CALVARY CONNECT What is CALVARY CONNECT? CALLED TO SERVE Serving the Lord is an essential part of Christian growth. By serving, God grows us into the people He wants us to be and uses us to bless others. Applying to serve works in three steps: First, if you would like to apply to serve in any of the ministries here at Calvary, please fill out the form at ccob.org under the ministry tab (you ll click apply to serve ). Second, after you ve filled out the form, you ll be contacted about having an elder interview. This is where you meet with one of our churches elders to discuss serving in the church and our general philosophy. Third, we strongly encourage those interested in serving at Calvary Old Bridge to attend our Called to Serve classes. Called to Serve is a 5-week class that helps believers follow the example Jesus gave us to be a servant to one another. You will learn important principles of Christian service necessary to minister effectively. For more information email Pastor Jay Falzarano at pastorjay@ccob. org. For class details, including audio messages, visit ccob.org/cts. 3

3. DISCIPLESHIP HOME GROUPS Here at Calvary, we believe God speaks to us through fellow believers. Much of our Christian growth comes from fellowship with other Christians. That s why we place such a high priority on Discipleship Home Groups. Many in our church have found that simply meeting together to discuss God s Word has transformed them more into the image of God. What Are Discipleship Home Groups? Discipleship Home Groups are small groups that generally consist of 6-12 people who get together in a relaxed atmosphere, usually someone s home, for Bible study, prayer, discipleship, and fellowship. All groups study through a book of the Bible together alongside materials meant to facilitate conversation about Scripture. Most home groups meet once a week for 8-10 weeks. Each group then takes a 10-week break. During those times, many groups still meet informally to encourage each other and grow their personal connections. To find Home Group locations, time and to sign up, visit ccob.org. 4
