REVELATION REVEALED MINISTRIES HEBREW VOCABULARY Created by Meriaam Van Niekerk
Revelation Revealed Ministries Hebrew Vocabulary The Hebrew words listed below are written as transliterations of the actual Hebrew words. This means that they are not written in Hebrew letters but rather they are written in the way in which they are pronounced. The Hebrew language is a phonetical language, which means that it is not written on how something is spelled, but on how it is pronounced. Also take note that when writing a word in Hebrew, there are practically no vowels found in the Hebrew Alephbet, although these are sometimes indicated by the use of Nikud dots and stripes. Hebrew is a language which uses male and female words. This means that an item (non-living) is either considered male or female. Thus there are different male and female words which are used to describe different things, depending on whether the subject of the sentence is male or female. Here are some guidelines to help you know how to pronounce the sounds when saying the words: Hebrew Consonant Sound Sh Tz Ch K Q S R M N P L English Equivalent sh in Shake tz in Ritz There is no such sound in English J in Spanish G in Afrikaans It is a throat-clearing type of sound made in the back of the throat. k in King or c in Clock k in King or c in Clock s in Snow R s are rolled in the back of the throat in the same manner is the French R m in Mouse n in Noun p in Pipe l in Like Page 1 of 6
