November Month of the Holy Souls Visiting a Cemetery An indulgence is granted to the Christian Faithful who devoutly visit a cemetery and pray, even only mentally, for the dead. This indulgence is applicable only to the souls in purgatory. This indulgence is a plenary indulgence from November 1st, All Saints Day, until November 8th inclusive and can be gained on each one of these days. On the other days of the year this indulgence is a partial indulgence. The 100 th Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima Apparitions The Mother of God at Fatima in 1917 over six consecutive months, confided to three shepherd children Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco a profound message, a dire warning, and a glorious promise to the Church and all of humanity. The saga of Fatima continues today, and now appears to be entering its final chapter. At the final apparition 13 th October 1917 Our Lady produced the promised miracle, along with this warning: People must amend their lives and ask pardon for their sins. They must not offend Our Lord any more for He is already too much offended. She tells us to continue to pray the Rosary every day. Some 70,000 people, gathered in the Cova during a driving rain, witness the Miracle of the Sun: the rain suddenly stops; the clouds disappear; and then the sun twirls in the sky, throws off vivid colours, and plunges toward the terrified crowd, instantly drying soaked clothing and the ankle deep mud covering the ground. Many were cured of diseases on the spot, many more converted to the Catholic Faith. On December 26, 1957, Sister Lucy gave the following testimony (excerpts) to Father Fuentes, the Vice Postulator of the cause of Jacinta and Francisco: Father, the Most Holy Virgin is very sad because no one has paid any attention to Her message, neither the good nor the bad.... The good continue on their way, but without giving any importance to Her Message.... Tell them, Father, that many times the Most Holy Virgin told my cousins Francisco and Jacinta, as well as myself, that many nations will disappear from the face of the earth. She said that Russia will be the instrument of chastisement chosen by Heaven to punish the whole world if we do not beforehand obtain the conversion of that poor nation." Father, the Most Holy Virgin said to my cousins as well as to myself, that God is giving two last remedies to the world. These are the Holy Rosary and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The Most Holy Virgin, in these last times in which we live, has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the Rosary. She has given this efficacy to such an extent that there is no problem, no matter how difficult it is, whether temporal or above all spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our families, of the families of the world or of the religious communities, or even of the life of peoples and nations, that cannot be solved by the Rosary. There is no problem I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot resolve by the prayer of the Holy Rosary. With the Holy Rosary we will save ourselves. We will sanctify ourselves. We will console Our Lord and obtain the salvation of many souls. 2017 and sadly peoples, nations and worst yet many Catholics continue to ignore Our Lady s plea to amend their lives, pray the Rosary daily and do penance. However just as in August 1931at Rianjo Spain when Our Lord spoke to Sister Lucia and issued a warning to His ministers, that given they follow the example of the King of France in delaying His command they will follow him into misfortune He also added; It is never too late to have recourse to Jesus and Mary. The late Fr Nicholas GRUNER and Champion of Our Lady of Fatima was always quick to point out that it is in great part laxity of the faithful in not praying the Rosary daily, doing penance and making sacrifices which has led to God not giving the necessary Graces for the Pope in union with all the Bishops of the world to perform the long overdue Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary which in the end will usher in Her Triumph and the promised period of peace to the world. Even Sister Lucia indirectly addressed the issue of the lay-catholic s duty to the Common Good when she said do not wait for the call of penance to come from the hierarchy. IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO HAVE RECOURSE TO JESUS AND MARY. PRAY THE ROSARY DAILY, DO PENANCE, MAKE SACRIFICES, AMEND YOUR LIVES. 4
