FOOD FOR THOUGHT It s Good to Look Back Joshua 24:15 As I was getting rid of some old papers, I came upon an article that I wrote that was published in the first issue of the GOOD NEWS MAGAZINE. The Good News Magazine was a way of communicating with the youth departments in the various Apostolic Faith Churches. All of the activities of the different youth departments were published in the magazine. I am so thankful that my message is still the same now as it was in that first issue. I mentioned of the decline of the Gospel in many of the churches in the USA. Why is it that the number of churches has increased in many places outside of the USA and some of our churches have closed its doors because of lack of growth? The argument can be as some choose to believe that as some men become wealthy they show less need for God. However, if this is true why is it that there is a tremendous growth in some other denominations and other cults whose leaders are very wealthy? The standard of the gospel has been lowered. Wherever the gospel is upheld to a higher standard and holiness is required within and without, there will be progress. May we return to our motto and be true to it. Earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints Jude 3. We have the best doctrine. Let s not be content, but contend. Food is only nourishing to the body if you consume it. You can have all the best food in your refrigerator and still die of starvation this is us! May God bless and keep us as we strive to make Heaven our home. By, Deacon Charles Huggins

CORNER CELEBRATION!!! On Sunday, January 10, 2016, we celebrated our Pastor s 40th Birthday. May God s blessing and favor continue to fall on him as he leads us closer to God. PASTOR S Welcome to our second edition of Koinonia, our local newsletter, DISPLAYING the great things happening at the Apostolic Faith Mission here on 265 Lafayette Ave, Brooklyn, NY. At our church we continue to believe that Jesus is the Light of the World. And it is only when we experience the Light and Life of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that our lives can truly begin to take shape and have real meaning. It is my desire - and that of our entire ministerial staff and leadership team - that you experience the Light and Life of Christ in every fiber of our church life. Every service you attend, every event you enjoy, every web telecast you view, each page of material you read is our attempt to share the life changing and empowering message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For the year 2016, I pray the prayer of the Apostle Paul, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Our theme for the month of January was Experiencing God. Each sermon was geared toward understanding the urgency of knowing Christ deeper and learning ways in which we can begin to explore the depths of a relationship with Christ. I encourage you to visit us on YouTube and subscribe to AFC Brooklyn to enjoy our January services and other content. Please enjoy this newsletter. I would like to extend a special thank you to our staff for all of your hard work in making this newsletter a reality. Blessings, Pastor Johnny
