Personal Application 1. Remember, God is the Giver of spiritual gifts. We don t earn them, deserve them, or beg God for them. At conversion, God gifts us the way He wants to gift us. 2. Remember, God gives us spiritual gifts so we can use them to benefit the lives of other people. The body of Christ is built up as everyone uses their spiritual gifts. 3. Remember, we are to stir up the active use of spiritual gifts in ourselves and in the believers around us. Questions for Discussion and Further Reflection 1. What is the difference between manifesting a spiritual gift in the power of the Holy Spirit, as opposed to one s own natural abilities? Or put another way - to minister in faith rather than in ability? 2. Describe a time when you experienced joy, satisfaction, and fulfillment in utilizing your spiritual gift(s). 3. Describe a time when you experienced or witnessed a group of Christians come together and utilize their unique spiritual gift mixes to minister to others. 4. Describe a time when you utilized your spiritual gift and nobody noticed and/or thanked you for your ministry. How did you feel? Did that experience dampen your enthusiasm to keep on utilizing your gift?
