habit: REFLECT Kingsland Baptist Church ADULT

Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Share an example of someone in your home or circle of friends who reflects the light of Christ. How does this person inspire you?

Acts 4:13 And they recognized that they had been with Jesus. Share an illustration of how we might be recognized to have been with Jesus.

Psalm 5:3 In the morning, O Lord, Thou wilt hear my voice; in the morning I will order my prayer to Thee and eagerly watch. When you pray, do you eagerly expect God to answer your prayers?

Matthew 6:14 For if you forgive men for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you? Why is it important to always forgive others? What makes it hard for you to forgive?

James 1:2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds. Why is it so hard to rejoice when we go through hard times? Why does God ask us to count it all joy in hard times?

Romans 8:28-29 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son. Share an example of how you are being conformed to the image of Christ so that His likeness is reflected.

Psalm 46:10 Cease striving and know that I am God. Talk about a time you trusted God to get you through a difficult situation. What did you learn about God as a result?

Psalm 8:3-4 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? How do you feel knowing that you are more prized to God than the planets?

Matthew 5:14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. What is the purpose of light? How can God use you to light the way for others?

Hebrews 13:2 Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it. Why should we be kind to all people?

habit: TRAIN Kingsland Baptist Church ADULT

1 Timothy 4:7 Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness. How are irreverent, silly myths a hindrance to godliness?

Luke 6:40 A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher. Share in what area of life you might be more fully trained to be like Jesus, your teacher?

Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will hold to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (riches). Talk about how your attitude toward one master determines how you feel about the other master.

Deuteronomy 5:16 Honor your father and your mother To honor means to give weight or consideration to someone. Why should children consider or give weight to what their parents tell them to do?

1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: Bad company ruins good morals. Why is it important to choose our friends wisely?

Hebrews 5:14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil. Share your thoughts on how knowing God helps your powers of discernment the capability to choose good from evil.

Dueteronomy 6:5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. Discuss ways that you can grow in your love for God.

Psalm 78:7 That they should put their confidence in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments. How can our family celebrate and remember the good things that God does for us?

1 Corinthians 11:1 Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ. What does it mean to imitate someone? How can we imitate Christ?

Proverbs 3:1 My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments. Share one teaching you learned from a parent that continues to help you today.

habit: BLESS Kingsland Baptist Church ADULT

Numbers 6:23b-26 Thus you shall bless the people.. The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you guidance. Offer a blessing to one or more at your table or call a family member and offer God s blessing on them.

Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the man, who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. Talk about how you are blessed by delighting in God s Word.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. Talk about a time when someone offered you encouragement just when you needed it most. How can you do the same for someone else?

Matthew 10:33 But a certain Samaritan, who was on a journey, came upon him; and when he saw him, he felt compassion. Someone said it s not what you look at that matters but what you see. How can we learn to see others in the way the Good Samaritan saw the man in need?

Mark 8:25 Then again He laid His hands upon his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and began to see everything clearly. After Jesus healed the blind man he saw the world around him clearly. What keeps us from seeing others clearly?

Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. Talk about how sharing the love of God with others can be God s blessing to them.

John 20:21 Jesus therefore said to them again, Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you. What has Jesus sent you to do in the world today? How can you be His hands and feet?

Matthew 25:35 For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you invited Me in. Mother Teresa said we should look for Jesus in the distressing disguise of the poor. What does Jesus expect us to do when we meet someone going through hard times?

Matthew 9:36 And seeing the multitudes, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and downcast like sheep without a shepherd. Jesus always saw the needs and struggles of others and then helped them. How can we be more like Jesus where we live?

Phillippians 2:4 Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Why is it hard for us to put others first? How does focusing on ourselves keep us from being a blessing to others?

WILD CARD Kingsland Baptist Church ADULT

TIP #1 Look for ways to share with others how you see God using them. Example: You really show God s love in the way you encourage and support others.

TIP #3 Use written notes to bless others. Example: Drop someone a note, email or text message early in the morning. Let them know you are praying for them.

TIP #5 Make Bible reading a part of your daily schedule. Example: It is much easier to study the Bible when you have a plan. You can find a devotional book at your local bookstore or find reading plans online. If you are looking for some tech tools, try starting with the YouVersion Bible App. Remember, it doesn t have to be complicated.

TIP #2 Find a way to serve in the community. Examples: Volunteer at a local homeless shelter, bake treats for local first responders and deliver them, visit a nursing home.

TIP #4 Bless a stranger. Example: Pay for a Drive-Thru meal for the person behind you. A small and kind gesture goes a long way. You never know - paying for someone's meal could start a chain reaction for others to do the same.

TIP #6 Take quiet moments alone with God. In solitude and silence we become quite enough to hear a voice that is not our own. This is the Voice we most need to hear. Example: Designate a place or chair in your home as your quiet time spot. Make sure it is void of any distractions. Use this spot to give God your undivided attention.
