Missionary Moments from Dr. Burt Wilbur Email: director@brushymountain.com Cell Phone: (828) 443-3247 Brethren, pray for us. 1 Thessalonians 5:25 Do you ever find yourself having one of those WOW! Moments? Today presented one of those moments for me as I sat down to write this very article. I realized by the end of this month I will have been the Director of Missions for one year. It seems to have gone by so quickly. I have visited, preached at, held revivals, worked with committees, or worked with 28 of our churches one on one. You can be sure if your church is not in that count I will be coming soon. I accept every invitation to come and visit our churches or preach on a first come first served basis. Every church is special and I desire to serve everyone as God gives the opportunity. During this first year we have: Welcomed two new works into our Association under Watch Care. Wilkes Cowboy SONcrest Outreach Expanded the Minister s Conference Started Brushy Mountain S.A.M. Created The Virtual Church Office Welcomed Fruitland Bible College into our office Created the Church of the Month Sent out missionaries to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew Continued Our historic ministries We dealt with loss at the passing of Lois Woodie and honored her service with the creation of the renaming of the Honor Clerks Award to the Lois Woodie Honor Clerk Award. We have welcomed new staff to meet the growing ministries. Receptionist Linda Holland and our Administrative Assistant Gloria Kilby currently serve you at the Association office. All of this is to grow the kingdom of God as we seek to join the Spirit of God in ministering to the lives we touch. Please pray for me as I pray for you that God might use us to His Glory, daily, throughout the years ahead until Jesus comes in all His glory. Just in case you haven t heard our Grand-daughter, Joslyn has two baby brothers, who were born on December 2nd, Braden and Caden. What a year! Special Prayer Request Pray for our sister churches as they seek the leadership of the Holy Spirit in calling the under-shepherd of Christ to serve His Church of God s own choosing. h.o.p.e. - Helping Other People Excel Rev. John Triplett, C.C.M. Director Greetings from h.o.p.e. Ministry, First, let me say thank you for your prayers. We covet them. We know prayer is a vital part of the ministry. We pray with each person that we see. I can remember one time while counseling with a client, she said to me that the prayer time was her favorite part of coming to h.o.p.e. ministry. I have prayed with people and after we were done, they have told me how much better they felt. Jeremiah 29:12 says, then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. God said he will listen to you. What a promise. Will you help us pray for the people we see? Will you help us pray for a new ministry building? But most important, help us pray for the lost that need to repent and come to Jesus Christ. Thank you for your support so we can tell the world about Jesus. God Bless You! John Triplett

Give and Grow Give a $10.00 gift to Wilkes Ministry of Hope from February 1st, 2017 until March 31st, 2017 and receive a free copy of my book, Building a Pyramid of Understanding. All proceeds will go to Wilkes Ministry of Hope. Then every Saturday, April 22nd - June 24th join me as I teach through the book on the Association s Radio Program at 9:15 am, on WKBC 800 AM. Books will need to be picked up at Wilkes Ministry of Hope or at the Brushy Mountain Baptist Association Office to allow more of your gift to go to the mission work of Wilkes Ministry of Hope. Learn about the aspects of God, Man, Temptation, and Christian Service as you move to understand the three relationships we can have with God: Creation, Salvation and Growth. Take time to know what you believe, so you can share and discuss your faith with confidence. Truly this special project will allow you the opportunity to Give and Grow, blessing others as you are blessed.
