Mary, Marion News Celebrating our 130th Anniversary St. Mary s celebrated its seventy-fifth anniversary in 1964. Mass, potluck dinner and a program done by members of the parish were the extent of the low key celebration. Father Jacobs was transferred to Lena, September 8, 1966. The people of his flock and also everyone around in the community were saddened by this move but grateful to have had his help and companionship for ten years. Some members helped Father Jacobs move to his new parish, St. Charles at Lena, WI. 130 years ago, the foundation of this Catholic Church family was started by men and women who were strong in their faith. Some of you are direct descendants of those faithful families. AS our church has continued to grow, all of our families, friends, and visitors are here to support and uphold the values and beliefs established by the early members and of our congregation. On Saturday, October 13th, Bishop Ricken will be here to celebrate our 130th Anniversary and to welcome young adults from our 3 Parish Family with the Rite of Confirmation. You are all invited to join us for Mass at 5 o'clock in the evening followed by a meal to celebrate these two wonderful occasions. Come to share memories of our parish and congratulate our newly confirmed young adults. Please share this information with all of parish family, so they may enjoy the rich history of our parish. You may contact Jayne Radtke for more information. Also, the bulletin board in the back of the church has wonderful pictures and information about our 130 years of parish life. Thank you to Sandy and Manny Moraleda and Bea Roubal for putting this together for all of us to enjoy. EVERYDAY STEWARDSHIP - Reporting Sexual Abuse If you know of an incident of sexual abuse of a person who is now under the age of 18 by a priest, deacon, employee or volunteer, PLEASE IMMEDIATELY CALL THE CIVIL AUTHORITIES AND THEN THE DIOCESE. If the person was abused as a minor but is now an adult, please contact: Office of Safe Environment Diocese of Green Bay 920-272-8174 or 1-877-270-8174 (toll free) We always encourage you to report the incident to civil authorities. RECOGNIZE GOD IN YOUR ORDINARY MOMENTS People can spend their entire lives looking for their most suitable partner. Some have an unattainable ideal in their minds that makes the search impossible. Others may choose a different partner over and over again without any real discernment, leading to a long series of breakups and heartache. Perhaps the greatest obstacle for people lies in their assumption that the most important criteria for choosing a partner is that the person they choose to love needs to be devoted to them and be faithful to them above all others. The truth is that if you want to have a suitable partner who you find yourself drawing ever closer to as the years go by, then the focus of both people involved needs to be on a much more important being t h a n t h e t w o o f y o u. When I was a teenager, I remember seeing a triangle used as a visual aid in explaining how true love works. God is the top point and the two lovers, friends, or family members involved are the bottom points. If the two involved in the relationship love God more than each other, than in time it will be their love for the Divine that will bring them ever closer, like how a triangle narrows at the top point. The more I give of myself to my God, the greater I find my love is for my wife, my children, and my friends. A stewardship way of life will eventually strengthen all our relationships, for a surrender to the One who is love means an increase in the love we have to give to others. For those who continue to search for the "one," pause, pay attention, and see the One who has always loved you and will do so forevermore. YOU MATTER TO US THERE IS HOPE! NOTICE TO THE LADIES OF OUR THREE PARISH COMMUNITY St. Anthony's P.C.C.W invites you to be our guest at a luncheon Wednesday October 17. Please join us at 11:00 a.m. The theme is "HALLOWEEN" and we hope you will" dress" for the occasion with a costume Prizes will be awarded. RSVP by Oct. 14 to Vonnie 715-535-2065 or the office 715-535-2571 Page 5 Three Parish Catholic Family Don t Miss out on Family Mission Night! This Sunday Night 4:00 PM In Tigerton.
