R OCKINGHAM C HURCH OF C HRIST I NC. S O U N D C H R I S I A N 21st August 2016 Pastor Tim Nsair will bring us today s message titled: Expect Trouble Trust GOD Scripture readings: EXODUS 5:1 6:12 MEMBERSHIP We have the pleasure of announcing that Sheldon and Linda Coulter, and Leanne Ryan have been accepted into membership here at Rockingham Church of Christ. Membership is a way of expressing your commitment to love and serve this part of God s family, and is also designed to help strengthen the church by keeping important decisions regarding the leadership and direction of the church in the hands of those who are committed to Christ and this part of His body here. With some important decisions for the church family coming up, now might be a great time for you to consider membership too. If you have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, been baptised, and regularly attend our Sunday service, then membership is open to you. Please contact Elsie for an application form, and Pastor Cohen will arrange an appointment with you. CHURCH FETE TO SUPPORT CHAPLAINCY Are you willing to be the contact person and co-ordinator for our church fete this year? The fete will be on Saturday 8th October with the specific aim of raising funds to support school chaplaincy. All ministry groups and other interested parties from within the church are invited to run a stall with all proceeds going to Youth Care. If you are willing to help organise the event, including co ordinating the stalls, organise advertising and helping to ensure that the overall day runs smoothly, please speak to either Elsie or Pastor Cohen ASAP. WALK WITH GOD My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me. (Psalm 101:6) Walk with God as Noah did; when the flood came, Noah was saved amidst the scorn and rejection of his neighbours. Walk with God as Moses did in the solitude of the desert; when the hour of judgement fell upon Egypt, Moses was prepared to lead his people to victory. Walk with God as David did as a shepherd boy; when he was called to rule his people he was prepared for the task of kingship. Walk with God as Daniel and his three young friends did in the palace of Babylon s king; when the fiery furnace and the lion s den came, God was beside them and delivered them. No, God didn t always deliver His saints from adversity or even death, nor does He today. But because they had learned to trust Him in the light, they were prepared to follow Him in the darkness. God has not promised to deliver us from trouble, but He has promised to go with us through trouble. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me (Psalm 23:4). Hope for Each Day, Billy Graham PRAISE AND PRAYER POINTS upraise the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory in Christ. uthank God, after we have suffered a little while, He will restore us and make us strong, firm, and steadfast. upray for those struggling with health or age, including: Lorraine McDonnell (scheduled for surgery on Monday), Margaret Saw, Ruth Long, Keith Roediger, Elaine Watts-McKiroy, Noelene Fist, Pat & Joyce Sullivan, & others. upray for those who are grieving, including: Barbara Armstrong and Alison Konkel and the family as they grieve over the loss of Bruce (Barbara's son); and the family of Molly Stevens. upray for our fellow brothers and sisters in Perth and around the world who are suffering for their testimony about Jesus as Lord. upray that as the crucified and risen Jesus is proclaimed, many will be brought back to God.

From the Elders NOTICE OF MOTION TO AGM: PURCHASE OF CHURCH LAND The church family now owns a portion of the land on which we currently meet. The church has previously given the Board formal approval to make payments towards the land up to 30% of the Unimproved Land Value (ULV). The Board now seeks to lift that ceiling to 60% of the ULV so all future donations made towards the purchase of the land can be paid to Churches of Christ as and when required (so far we have made payments totalling 21% ULV). Once we have paid 60% ULV, Churches of Christ will transfer ownership of the land to us. The following motion will be discussed and voted on at the AGM. Motion: That Rockingham Church of Christ Inc. approve the purchase of the land that the current church building resides upon up to 60% of the unimproved land value (ULV). The property to be purchased is Certificate of Title Vol. 1283, Folio 998, being lot 94 located on the corner of Rae Road and Frederick Street in Safety Bay. The Board is authorized to make periodic payments to this goal as required. Funding of any subsequent payments are to come from dedicated new donations beginning 1st July 2016.
