How can a loving God send people to Hell?
Who is God? God is God
Who is God? God is love
Who is God? Ok, so God is love but God is angry?
Because God is love, God gets angry
Because God is love, God gets angry God s love & holiness is primary Wrath is secondary
It s primarily because God is good that there is a hell. God would not be a just God if there s no penalty for evildoers. The outcry of our nation is that wrongs are being done and nothing is being done about them. Pastor Alex Michel
Soon you will discover that it takes the quiet of a suburban home for the birth of the [idea] that human nonviolence corresponds to God s refusal to judge. In a scorched land, soaked in the blood of the innocent, it will invariably die. Dr. Miroslav Volf Professor of Theology at Yale Divinity School
If I don t believe that there is a God who will eventually put all things right, I will take up the sword and will be sucked into the endless vortex of retaliation. Only if I am sure that there s a God who will right all wrongs and settle all accounts perfectly do I have the power to refrain." Dr. Miroslav Volf Professor of Theology at Yale Divinity School
Is it fair for God to send people to hell to suffer for eternity?
Is it fair for God to send people to hell to suffer for eternity? Is it fair for God to let evildoers into heaven?
Is it fair for God to send people to hell to suffer for eternity? Is it fair for God to let evildoers into heaven? Is it fair for God to have his only son suffer and die for sins he never committed? Sins we committed knowing they were wrong?

"Eternal Life and Eternal Death are PRESENT REALITIES that will continue on into the future Hell is an eternal continuation of the present state of living death It is the end result of an entire life trajectory of increasing separation from God Hell is a willful, eternal choice to be independent from God. The Rich Man & Lazarus 19 There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. 20 And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, 21 who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man s table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham s side. The rich man also died and was buried, 23 and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. 24 And he called out, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us. 27 And he said, Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father s house 28 for I have five brothers so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 But Abraham said, They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them. 30 And he said, No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent. 31 He said to him, If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead. Luke 16:19-31 (ESV)
What If People Repent In Hell? 8 The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was allowed to scorch people with fire. 9 They were scorched by the fierce heat, and they cursed the name of God who had power over these plagues. They did not repent and give him glory. 10 The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in anguish 11 and cursed the God of heaven for their pain and sores. They did not repent of their deeds. Revelation 16:8-11 (ESV)

Eternal Separation From God They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed. 2 Thessalonians 1:9-10 (ESV) Away from the presence of is literally away from the face of

Does the reality of hell drive you to compassion? I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my kinsmen according to the flesh. Romans 9:2 3 (ESV) Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. Romans 10:1 (ESV)
It s time to stop apologizing for Him and start apologizing to Him I am just now seeing the ugliness of my actions. Like the nervous kid who tries to keep his friends from seeing his drunken father, I have tried to hide God at times. Who do I think I am? The truth is, God is perfect and right in all that He does. I am a fool for thinking otherwise. He does not need nor want me to cover for Him. There s nothing to be covered. Everything about Him and all He does is perfect. Francis Chan in Erasing Hell
Would you have thought to rescue sinful people from their sins by sending your Son to take on human flesh? Would you have thought to enter creation through the womb of a young Jewish woman and be born in a feeding trough? Would you have thought to allow your created beings to torture your Son, lacerate His flesh with whips, and then drive nails through His hands and feet? Parents, imagine it. I m almost sure I would not have done that if I were God. Aren t you glad I m not God? Francis Chan in Erasing Hell
For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me. In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord s death until he comes. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 (ESV)
C O M E T O T H E T A B L E Lord, what are you wanting me to do about this great need? Take time to commune with God and ask Him: Help me to trust you and hear from you GO? When? Where? GIVE? How much? PRAY? How often?
