Take care of YOU first- The problem with not taking care of ourselves is sooner or later we won t be of much use to anyone else or to ourselves. 2. Yoga is excellent for bone health - Osteoporosis and low bone mass are very common in people as they age, and 80% of women. The good news is you can slow, and possibly even reverse, bone loss by engaging in weightbearing exercise. Other News: SISTERS AGAINST CANCER The third annual Sisters Against Cancer/No One Fights Alone 5k Run/Walk will be held in Howard on Oct. 6. The event will draw awareness to the BRCA gene and raise funds to help others in memory of four sisters who fought long battles against cancer. Faye Garis, Mary Lomison, Darlene Boone and Dottie Butts all carried the BRCA2 hereditary cancer gene that causes higher risks of breast and ovarian cancers and each of the sisters eventually died from the dreaded cancer. Their families have joined together to support others in the Centre and Clinton County areas who may be going through the same situation. Contact Tina Lomison at 814-280-7333 for more sponsorship information or to register for the upcoming event.
