A Note From Our Pastor Dear Parishioners, I would like to inform you of the following staff changes on the campus of Sacred Heart. First, we thank Mrs. Kaitlynn Sceski for her years of work at Sacred Heart Parish and in her many roles and responsibilities that she took on as a staff member for almost 5 years. We wish her and her family much happiness and success in their future endeavors in life and in faith. Second, we welcome Mr. Doug Singo, our new business manager for Sacred Heart Parish, and who comes to us from his lifetime career in banking and business. Third, we welcome Deacon Anthony Raymundo as our new transitional Deacon from Saint Charles Seminary. Deacon Anthony will do his Summer Pastoral assignment here as a Deacon and then return to the parish on weekends and at various times throughout the school year as he prepares for his final year of studies in preparation for the ordained priesthood. Fourth, we wish Father Manny Flores the best as he enters his first assignment as a priest, at Our Lady of Grace Parish, Penndel. Fifth, we welcome The Bright Beginnings infant and toddler day care and PreK3 and 4 year old education programs to Sacred Heart School Campus. Bright Beginnings has the highest four star ratings in the state and will lease 5 of our classrooms this upcoming year and we hope this will bear much fruit in our community for years to come. More information will be forthcoming in months ahead. Sixth, Enjoy the summer. Father Mike Deacon Anthony Raymundo Hello! My name is Deacon Anthony, and I m new to Sacred Heart. I m really excited to be with you all for the year, as I learn to be a good Deacon and future Priest. I m from nearby West Chester, and thanks to your welcoming smiles I already feel quite at home here in beautiful Oxford. I grew up in a strong Catholic family as the oldest of six kids. My dad encouraged me to be open to God s will, wherever He would lead me-so priesthood was an option for me ever since I was young. However, I also had dreams of being a filmmaker or engineer so I tried pursuing those things first. I had tons of hobbies and became pretty good with fixing and building things, from cars to computers. While at college at Franciscan University, the time came for me to make a decision - does God want me to be a Priest? Because if he did, I couldn t keep telling him to wait. I decided to leave Franciscan early, apply to the Seminary and find out! Throughout my six years in seminary, God kept giving me little signs to keep on going, and this past May I was ordained a Deacon. Please keep me in prayer, that I may become a holy priest! Yours in Christ, Deacon Anthony Mr. Doug Singo Hello! My name is Doug Singo and I m thrilled to change career paths, joining Sacred Heart as business manager with over 38 years of banking experience. I hold a BS degree in accounting and currently chair the finance committee for St. Patrick R. C. Church in Kennett Square, serve as treasurer of the Knights of Columbus, Kennett Square Council, and previously was Treasurer of the Kennett Library at Bayard Taylor Commons for 20 years. I currently enjoy encountering our faith with others by serving as an adult catechist and extraordinary minister and appreciate hiking and gardening in my spare time. Southern Chester County Steering Committee Update & Survey Thank you to all of the parishioners, school families, alumni, and community members who attended the Five Parish Town Hall Meeting at St. Gabriel Church on May 30th and the Visitation Day at Assumption BVM School and Sacred Heart School on June 6th. Many thanks to all the participants who made the 40 Hours Devotion possible. A special thank you goes to all adorers who signed-up to cover an hour or more before the Blessed Sacrament in silence and prayer so that others could come and go as their schedules permitted. Many thanks also to Father Hennelly for his support of the 40 Hours and Eucharistic Adoration. Additionally, I also want to thank Mrs. Lisa Ledger and Mrs. Beth Van Woert from the Parish office, for all of their help. Eucharistic Adoration We are so fortunate at Sacred Heart to have Eucharistic Adoration every Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. concluding with a 7:00 p.m. Mass. Every Tuesday, you can experience a tiny glimpse of heaven because the peace and joy one experiences in Adoration can only be found with the Lord. Why not stop in for any length of time and discover the hidden treasure of spending quiet time with Jesus. We are in need of an adorer for 8 am and 12 Noon. If you are interested in becoming an adorer, please call Joann Di Liberto at 610 932 8962, or complete a contact form and leave it in the grey Eucharistic Adoration Box in the Narthex (next to the Sacred Heart statue) and Joann will contact you. Note: We will NOT have Adoration on Tuesday, June 26 and Tuesday, July 3, 2018. 0132 Sacred Heart Parish Sunday, June 17, 2018
