The Luminous Mysteries 1 st : The Baptism of Jesus by John in the Jordan River 2 nd : The Wedding Feast at Cana 3rd : The Preaching of the Kingdom of God 4th : The Transfiguration 5th : The Institution of the Eucharist at the Last Supper

The Luminous Mysteries The Luminous Mysteries begin with the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. From then on, Jesus began to do great things. In the Second Luminous Mystery we go to Cana in Galilee, where Jesus turned water into wine. Mary said "Do whatever Jesus tells you." The Third Luminous Mystery calls us to go with Jesus through the towns and cities of his own country. The light of His love shone on everyone He met, especially the poor and the sick and those that others looked down on. On one of those journeys, Jesus led His friends up a high mountain. They saw Him shining in light, and he promised they would share His light too. This mystery is called the Transfiguration. Just before He died, Jesus had supper with his friends and He said, "This is my body, This is my Blood, Do this in memory of me." In the Fifth Luminous Mystery we remember the Holy Eucharist that Jesus gives us as His Body and Blood which gives life to our soul at every Mass! How wonderful to follow Jesus in the Luminous Mysteries. We were baptized too and opened up to the supernatural life of grace, and God wants us to do great things with us. He wants to live within us so that we can bring joy to people, like He did, especially to those that others look down on. Sin is real and dangerous but God helps us to live rightly in this beautiful world where we live. Beauty is God s love for us. Finally, thank Jesus for the gift of Himself in the Eucharist.

The Baptism of Jesus Fruit of the First Luminous Mystery: Belonging to God

The Baptism of Jesus Fruit of the Mystery Belonging to God Our Father 1) John appeared in the desert, baptizing and preaching. "Turn away from your sins and be baptized," he told the people, "and God will forgive you." (Mark 1,4) -Hail Mary 2) John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I comes, whose shoes I am not worthy to untie: He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire: (Lk3:16) Hail Mary 3) The next day, he saw Jesus coming toward him and said, Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. (John 1:29) -Hail Mary 4) As soon as Jesus came up out of the water, he saw heaven opening and the Spirit coming down on Him like a dove. (Mark 1,10)-Hail Mary 5) And a voice came from heaven, "You are my Beloved Son. I am well pleased with you." (Mark 1,11) -Hail Mary 6) For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not die but have eternal life.(john 3,16)-Hail Mary 7) Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. (Mt 28:19) -Hail Mary 8) Peter said to them, "Each one of you must turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, so that your sins willbe forgiven and you will receive God's gift, the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2,38) -Hail Mary 9) You were baptized into union with Christ, and now you are now clothed, with the life of Christ himself. (Galatians 3,27)-Hail Mary 10) And behold, I am with you always, even until the end of the world. (Mt 28:20) -Hail Mary Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen

The Wedding Feast at Cana Fruit of the Second Luminous Mystery Mary Intercedes For Us

The Wedding Feast at Cana Fruit of the Mystery: Mary Intercedes for Us Our Father 1) On the third day there was a wedding in Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding. Hail Mary (Jn 2:1-2) 2) When the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said to him, They have no wine. Hail Mary (Jn 2:3) 3) Jesus said to her, Woman, how does your concern affect me? My hour has not yet come. Hail Mary (Jn 2:4) 4) His mother said to the servers, Do whatever he tells you. Hail Mary (Jn 2:5) 5) Now there were six stone water jars there for Jewish ceremonial washings, each holding twenty to thirty gallons. Hail Mary (Jn 2:6) 6) Jesus told them, Fill the jars with water. So they filled them to the brim. Hail Mary (Jn 2:7) 7) Then He told them, Draw some out now and take it to the headwaiter. So they took it to him. Hail Mary (Jn 2:8) 8) And when the headwaiter tasted the water that had become wine, without knowing where it came from (although the servers who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom. Hail Mary (Jn 2:9) 9) And said to him, Everyone serves good wine first, and then when people have drunk freely, an inferior one; but you have kept the good wine until now. Hail Mary (Jn 2:10) 10) Jesus did this as the beginning of his signs in Cana in Galilee and so revealed his glory, and His disciples began to believe in Him. Hail Mary (Jn 2:11) Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen

The Preaching of the Kingdom Fruit of the 3 rd Luminous Mystery Repentance and Trust in God

The Preaching of the Kingdom Fruit of the Mystery Repentance and Trust in God Our Father 1) Jesus went all over Galilee, teaching in the synagogues, preaching the Good News about the Kingdom, and healing people who had all kinds of disease and sickness. (Mark 4,23)-Hail Mary 2) Then Jesus went home. Again such a large crowd gathered that Jesus and His disciples had no time to eat. (Luke 3,29) Hail Mary 3) When Jesus got out of the boat, He saw this large crowd, and His heart was filled with pity for them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things. (Mark 6,34) -Hail Mary 4) Then Jesus called the crowd and His disciples to him. "If any of you want to come with me, He told them, "you must forget yourself, carry your cross, and follow me."(mark 8,34) - Hail Mary 5) Some people brought their babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. The disciples saw them and scolded them for doing so, but Jesus called the children to him and said, "let the children come to me and do not stop them, because the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these."(luke 18,15-16) -Hail Mary 6) "I am the light of the world," he said. "Whoever follows me will have the light of life and will never walk in darkness." (John 8,12) Hail Mary 7) "I am the good shepherd, who is willing to die for the sheep."(john 10,11) -Hail Mary 8) "I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me will live, even though they die; and those who live and believe in me will never die." (John 11,25) - Hail Mary 9) "I am among you as one who serves." (Luke 22,27) -Hail Mary 10) "This, then, is what I command you: love one another." (John 15,17) - Hail Mary Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

The Transfiguration Fruit of the 4 th Luminous Mystery Desire for Holiness

The Transfiguration Fruit of the Mystery Desire for Holiness Our Father 1) Jesus took Peter, John, and James with him and went up a hill to pray. While he was praying, his face changed in appearance, and His clothes became dazzling white. (Luke 9,28-29) - Hail Mary 2) Suddenly two men were there talking with him. They were Moses and Elijah, who appeared in heavenly glory and talked with Jesus about the way in which he would soon fulfill God's purpose by dying in Jerusalem. (Luke 9, 30-31)-Hail Mary 3) Peter and his companions were sound asleep, but they woke up and saw Jesus' glory and the two men who were standing with him. (Luke 9,32)-Hail Mary 4) As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, "Master, how good it is that we are here. We will make three tents, onefor you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah."(Luke 9,33) -Hail Mary 5) While he was still speaking, a cloud appeared and covered them with its shadow; and the disciples were afraid as the cloud came over them. (Luke 9,34)-Hail Mary 6) A voice said from the cloud, "This is my Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased --listen to him!" (Luke 9,35) -Hail Mary 7) When the voice stopped, there was Jesus all alone. The disciples kept quiet about all this and told no one at the time anything they had seen. (Luke 9,36)-Hail Mary 8) See how much the Father has loved us! His love is so great that we are called God's children --and so, in fact, we are. (1 John 3,1) -Hail Mary 9) We are God's children now, but it is not yet clear what we shall become. (1 John 3,2)-Hail Mary 10) But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He really is.(1 John 3,2) -Hail Mary Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen

The Institution of the Holy Eucharist Fruit of the Mystery Adoration of God Among Us Our Father 1) When it was evening, Jesus and the twelve disciples sat down to eat. During the meal Jesus said, "I tell you, one of you will betray me." (Matthew 26,20-21)-Hail Mary 2) The disciples were very upset and began to ask him, one after the other, "Surely, Lord, you don't mean me? (Matthew 26,22)- Hail Mary 3) Judas, the traitor, spoke up. "Surely, Teacher, you don't mean me?" he asked. Jesus answered, "So you say. "Drink it, all of you," he said; "this is my blood of the New Covenant, which will be poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."(matthew 26,27) -Hail Mary 6) "I am the bread of life," Jesus told them. "Those who come to me will never be hungry; those who believe in me will neverbethirsty." I will come back and take you to myself, so that you will be where I am." (John 14,3)-Hail Mary 9) "Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. Do not let your hearts be troubles, nor let them be afraid." (John 14,27)-Hail Mary 10) "My commandment is this: love one another, just as I love you. The greatest love you can have for your friends is to give your life for them." (John 15,12-13) - Hail Mary Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen
