Sample: GUESS WHO S COMING FOR CHRISTMAS? PART 6 Host: It is time for the next exciting episode of Guess Who s Coming for Christmas? (Slide 17 theme music and question marks, same as slide 2) Are you contestants ready? Contestant #3, listen to the next mystery person. (Slide 18 Mystery Guests #6) Shepherd 1: We had the lowliest job of all. We were considered no better than tax collectors and everybody hated THEM. Contestant #3: I suppose the tax collectors are like the IRS. Nobody wants them knocking on their door. What is worse than that? I don t know so I guess I will pass on this one. Class: Aw Take a guess. Host: All right. #1, listen for your clue. Shepherd 2: We were just uneducated humble men, so why were we picked for this great revelation instead of rulers and kings? Contestant #1: Now I m confused too. What did these men find out? I give up. Class: Somebody has to guess! Host: I guess they are giving you a chance Contestant #2. Listen carefully. Shepherd 3: To think an angel would come to talk to us in the middle of the night. Shepherd 4: The light was so great we were terrified. But the angel told us not to be afraid. Contestant #2: Boy, seems like the angel has really been busy lately. Mary, Joseph, and now these men. But I think I have the answer: the shepherds! Host (ding, ding): Correct. (Slide 19 Shepherds) Class: Finally! (Spontaneous cheers) (Leads the clapping) (Someone walks across chancel with sign that says Applause ) Host: Come on out shepherds. (Shepherds come out from behind screen.) Tell us what happened that night!

Shepherd 1: It was the middle of the night. Everything was quiet when suddenly this angel appeared. Shepherd 2: We listened to the angel s words in bewilderment. Could this be? Could the Savior of the world have been born right here in Bethlehem on this very night? Shepherd 3: And then the sky was filled with a multitude of these angels. Shepherd 4: There were so many of them it reminded me of the stars. Shepherd 1: I thought it seemed like an army of angels! Shepherd 2: Oh, and the songs and praises they sang. It was glorious! Shepherd 3: There has never been a choir like that ever again. And to think we heard it! Contestant #3: What did you do next? Shepherd 4: When the angels left we just looked at each other in astonishment. Had we heard that the Savior had been born? Shepherd 1: We decided at once to go find this baby. Shepherd 2: We didn t even care about the sheep that were in the field. We immediately departed and rushed to the stable so we could see this miracle for ourselves. Contestant #1: That is so cool. I get goose bumps just thinking about it. Shepherd 3: Let me tell you, we had goose bumps too! We left our sheep and went and found that precious baby. We all fell down and worshiped him. We absolutely knew he was our Lord and Savior. Shepherd 4: And you know we couldn t stop talking about it. When we left we told everyone what had happened. Shepherd 1: That was the most important night in my life. I ll never forget it or stop telling people about it. Class: Shepherds came to the stable that night. To see the baby, oh, what a sight! This little infant, so tiny and dear The Savior of the world was finally here. HYMN Silent Night

Part 7 Host: Welcome back to the final episode of Guess Who s Coming for Christmas? (Slide 20 theme music and question marks, same as slide 2) Here are our final three contestants. Here is your first clue, contestant #1. (Slide 21 Mystery Guests #7) Wise Man 1: I am going to give you a one word clue: Stars. Contestant #1: Stars. Hmmm. Does this have something to do with Star Wars? That would be so exciting! Class: We hope so too! Host (buzzer): No. Nothing to do with that. Class: Oh! (In disappointment) Host: Contestant #2, your turn. Wise Man 2: You might say we were stargazers. Contestant #2: Is it Galileo? Host: Afraid not. Next clue. Wise Man 3: We saw something new in the sky that hadn t been seen before. Contestant #3: Astronauts? They traveled in space. Host (buzzer): Wrong again. Class: This is hard! Host: Your clue, Contestant #1: Wise Man 1: We traveled for a long time following a bright new star in the sky. Contestant #1: Sounds like some explorer from a long time ago. Christopher Columbus? Class: Yes!

Host: (buzzer) Nope. Let s try again. Another clue for #2. Wise man 2: We were sure the star meant that a new important king had been born. Class: We got it! We got it! Contestant #2: I think I do too. This had to be the Wise Men. Host (ding, ding): You re right. (Slide 22 Wise Men) (Someone walks across chancel with sign that says Applause ) Class: (Spontaneous cheers) (Leads the clapping) Host: Let s meet these learned men and hear the rest of their story. (Wise Men come out from behind screen.) Wise Man 3: We have been called Wise men, kings, and magi. But what is important is that we followed that star for a long time and it finally led us to Bethlehem. Wise Man 3: We found the baby along with Mary and Joseph in a house. We immediately fell down and worshiped this Jesus. Wise Man 1: We even brought gifts for the baby. I gave him gold. Contestant #3: Wow. That was an expensive gift. Wise Man 1: It was a gift you would give to a king because that s what this baby was. Wise Man 2: I brought him some frankincense. Contestant #1: What is frankincense? Wise Man 2: Frankincense comes from a special tree and is used to make perfume and incense. It was used in worship so I gave it to this baby as a way to worship him. Wise Man 3: I brought myrrh for the baby. Contestant #2: I have no idea what that is. Wise Man 3: Myrrh is an expensive perfume that they anoint dead bodies with. Contestant #2: That seems like a really strange gift to give to a baby.

Wise Man 3: The myrrh meant that in the future this Jesus, our king, would suffer and die for us. Host: And isn t that what Jesus did? His death and resurrection are what make his birth so special. Class: The Wise Men came searching from afar They worshiped the Babe after following the star They presented him gifts that they did bring Gold, frankincense, and myrrh: fit for a king. Host: And now it is time to take a brief break. Contestant 3: I think since we just talked about the gifts the Wise Men brought, it would be a good time for all of us to give our own gifts to Jesus. Host: Excellent idea. Like the Wise Men, we also can give gifts and offerings to our Lord.
