WELCOME VISITORS We are honored by your presence this morning. We would love for you to record your attendance on the Friendship Pad when it is passed to you and provide information so that we can contact you further. ENTER TO WORSHIP This is a holy hour. We invite you to enter this sanctuary with joy and reverence. We invite members and visitors to be seated near the front of the sanctuary to enhance our sense of community in worship. Please remember to silence your cell phone. RESOURCES FOR HEARING IMPAIRMENT Hearing assistance devices are available for those who have such need. Please see an usher for more information. BECOME A MEMBER OF HBBC Those who desire to join our church may come forward to where the pastor is standing during the Hymn of Commitment. If you would like to meet with a minister before making this decision, any of our ministers would be happy to answer your questions. Correction for last week s sanctuary flowers: Last week s sanctuary flowers were given by Ruthie Turner Camp to my beautiful and thoughtful parents Ann and Jim Turner who gave of themselves to the Lord throughout their entire lives. To my dear Grandparents who served the Lord as the first Pastor and his wife to HBB Church. To my dear Uncle Gene who left us much too early. And to my favorite Uncle Thomas Turner who served the Lord and the world of science together as rarely has been seen.

UPCOMING EVENTS FOOD DRIVE Each week, Urban Ministries provides 8000 pounds of food to hungry members of our community. They need our help to stock the shelves before summer! We are planning to provide at least two weeks of food (16,000 pounds) by the end of May. One dollar provides five pounds of food, so we are taking food or money donations until May 31. Food can be donated at the Welcome Center, and financial gifts can be given through our website (www.hbbc.org/ give) or dropped off to the church office (designate Urban Ministries on your gift, please). CHILDREN S MUSICAL, OH, JONAH! Our children s music ministry has begun preparation for the spring musical, Oh, Jonah!. It s the story of the Old Testament prophet, brought to life through music and drama. It s not just the story of a big fish swallowing a human. It s a story filled with adventure and life lessons for all ages. Make plans to join us for Oh, Jonah! on May 9 at 6:15 PM in the Sanctuary. LAST FAMILY NIGHT AND BUSINESS MEETING Our last family night before summer is Wednesday, May 16. Come and join us around the table for dinner followed by a business meeting. Activities for preschoolers - youth will also occur. WOMEN S SUMMER BIBLE STUDY Join us on Wednesday evenings, starting May 16 at 7 PM, in the parlor for Steadfast Love from Lauren Chandler. Alice Moore will facilitate this 7 week DVD discussion-based study, encouraging participants to explore Psalm 107. Books will be available at the first session for $13. Email/contact Kristen Muse (kmuse@hbbc.org or 919-645-6722) if you need more information or want to register. FIVE POINTS 5K Believe it or not, it s almost that time again! The Five Points 5K and Health Fair are on May 19, 2018. Both events start at 8 AM. You can go ahead and sign up to volunteer or to participate in the 5K at www.fivepoints5k.com. All proceeds from our race go to benefit local elementary schools in the Five Points area. Contact David Keel at dkeel@hbbc.org for more information. CHRIST IS LORD A WORSHIP CELEBRATION Our Chancel Choir and Orchestra are preparing a special worship experience for the church and the community on Sunday, May 20. We will have special soloists and musicians joining us to worship Christ the Lord. Invite a friend for a time of worship together. GRADUATE RECOGNITION June 3 is Graduate Recognition Sunday! We want to celebrate the special achievements of all of our high school and college graduates by providing a breakfast banquet that morning in the Fellowship Hall at 9:45 AM. To ensure that your graduate gets recognized that morning during worship, please go to hbbc.org/graduates and complete the online form no later than Sunday, May 27.
