Passing of the Peace RECEIVING THE WORD Scripture: 2 Peter 1:3-11 pg. 1236 Message: Heavenly Focus Improves Earthly Benefits Dr. Carroll Smith RESPONDING TO THE WORD Leader: This Lord's day we approach the Lord s Table with gratefulness and praise because we can celebrate Holy Communion with the church universal. We express our sincere gratitude to Jesus our Savior for His wondrous love that allows us to have forgiveness of sin. This morning we celebrate Holy Communion with our hearts filled with joy. We follow our Lord s example and we show the world that we declare Jesus as Savior. People: We remember the great sacrifice that Jesus made so that we are given grace, mercy, forgiveness, and salvation. We enter into this celebration with hearts filled with appreciation because Christ has made us worthy through the brokenness of His body and the shedding of His Blood. Unison: We eat this bread and drink this cup with love and thankfulness in our hearts. We proclaim Christ s saving power with deep gratitude and admiration. We lift up our hearts to Christ our Lord and offer thanks for His sacrifice so that we have the blessing of salvation.
