Spring is finally on its way with some sunny days and our gardens starting to look colourful and inviting again, the front garden is receiving an overhaul, and shortly the residents will be helping to plant our hanging baskets to
decorate the outside of the home
February 14th St Valentine s Day The residents made lots of Valentine decorations to adorn the home, and enjoyed a themed afternoons tea. A thought for Valentine s Day. Love is patient. Love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs, Love does not delight in evil but rejoices the truth, it always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres, love never fails. and now these three remain, faith, hope, and love, but the greatest of these is love Corinthians 13: 4-8
Throughout the months of February, March and April we celebrated the birthdays of: Harriet Dick Joyce They received a handmade personalised birthday card made by other residents with support from Yvonne, the homes activity co-ordinator, and we all enjoyed a lovely birthday cake, and a joyous chorus of Happy Birthday

Easter Easter Celebrations Easter day 16th April was celebrated with lots of Easter eggs delivered by the Easter bunny and an eggstravaganza of decorations and treats made by the residents and staff, to celebrate this occasion, pre-1800 traditionally eggs were used from a duck or goose which was used as a symbol of new life, Easter is about the resurrection of the lord Jesus Christ. Chocolate eggs were introduced in the early 1800s but not so readily available as they are today and probably tasted nothing like they do today. Pam and Dave Carter entertained us on Easter Monday with an array of music and dance, thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Caring for the elderly Blessed are they who understand My faltering step and shaking hand Blessed are they who know my ears today Must strain to hear the things they say Blessed are they who seem to know My eyes are dim and my answers slow Blessed are they who look away When my tea was spilled at the table today Blessed are they who with a cheery smile Will stop to chat for a little while Blessed are they who never say You ve told me that story twice today Blessed are they who know my ways And bring back memories of yesterdays Blessed are they who ease the days And care for me in loving ways Blessed are they who make it known I m loved and respected and not alone
