He asks us to open our hearts and to welcome Him and the most vulnerable of our brothers and sisters. 2018 Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal Pledge Report as of 4/15/18 Thank you to everyone who has already made a pledge to the 2018 Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal (CMAA). Your gifts will benefit so many through the thirty ministries our annual appeal supports. Our parish s goal for the 2018 CMAA is $40,600. Our hope is that every parishioner will contribute as partners in caring, as every gift large and small makes a difference. If we raise more than our goal, 70% of the amount paid over goal will be returned to us for our use. This is an amazing opportunity for our parish! Please prayerfully reflect on your pledge to this year s CMAA. In-pew envelopes are still available in the narthex, or you can make a gift online at jolietdioceseappeal.org. Fourth Sunday of Easter Through the Waters of Baptism, the faith community of Christ the Servant Parish welcomes Over 55 Ladies Club Ladies Nite Out Tuesday, April 24, 2018, 4:30 PM at Page 3 Tyler Cole, son of Jeffrey & Nicole W April 8, 2018 Parker Michael, son of Mark & Dana G April 15, 2018 800 E. Ogden Ave, Westmont, IL Call Sharon M or Ginny A New members welcome! Thank you!!! Many people helped with the décor through Lent and Easter (changing banners, donating to Easter Décor, etc), and are too many to list singly here. Holy Week, in particular, required great dedication from the people who helped with Holy Thursday and Easter Vigil/Easter Sunday. On our Feast Day, Holy Thursday, the following people worked to create beautiful, prayerful surroundings for the time of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. We thank Rosada Heintz, Casey Kellner, and Helene Peslak for sharing their time and talents. On Holy Saturday, Patti Crimer, Bill Kohl, Bob & Denice Kraft, and Bill, Donna and Joe Ciolek all took the time to transition the church from the austerity of Good Friday to the glorious joy of Easter. We also thank the members of the plant watering team, who help care for the plants as Easter Season continues, and year round. CELEBRATE MOTHER S DAY with PROJECT LOVE Project Love is the charitable program of Illinois Right to Life. For 22 years, we have given over a half million dollars to mothers in a financial crisis. We have served over 1300 moms, who were given help and new hope in a time of crisis in their lives. We are the answer to prayers, the support they need to raise their children and move forward with their lives. Project Love will be offering beautiful Mother s Day cards the weekend of May 5 and 6. The cost is a free will donation. The money goes directly to creditors (landlords or utility companies, etc.) of the mothers in crisis, and we send a note of support and assurance of our prayers to each of the moms.

(Pope Francis, July 2013). This weekend, the Catholic Church observes World Day of Prayer for Vocations, also known as Good Shepherd Sunday. Its purpose is to publicly fulfill the Lord s instruction to Pray the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into His harvest. (Matthew 9;38). As a climax to a prayer that is continually offered throughout the Church, it affirms the primacy of faith and grace in all that concerns vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life. While appreciating all vocations, the Church concentrates its attention today on vocations to the ordained ministries (priesthood and diaconate), to the religious life (male and female, contemplative and apostolic), and to the missionary life. We pray that all young men and women hear and respond generously to the Lord s call. Joliet seminarians to be ordained priests in May: Ryan Adorjan from St. Anne, Oswego Max Behna from Sts.
