Ans: Either of the three: -1- Freeing a slave. -2- Fasting for 2 continuous months. -3- Feeding 60 people. Q) What is true regarding the person who misses a fast of Ramadan without a valid excuse? Ans: He cannot make up for the loss even if he fasts his entire life. Q) If a fast was missed in Ramadan due to a valid excuse, when must it be made up? Page 11 of 17
Ans: Before the next Ramadan. If not made up within 1 year, then the person is not only required to make up that fast, but additionally has to feed people. Q) What should a person do if he breaks a voluntary fast intentionally? Ans: He is not required to repeat or makeup that fast. Neither is he required to give charity or repent.
