TMH LifeGroups The Master s House www.tmhnow.org www. facebook.com/tmhnow Spring Semester 2012 February 1 April 28 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved (Acts 2:46-47). And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ. (Acts 5:42). The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly (John 10:10).

Message from Pastor Jim Why I Like LifeGroups LifeGroups mean a lot to me. The year I was saved (1979), I immediately started attending a small home group. This home group provided a solid foundation for me. It was place for Christian relationships and Bible study that made a big difference in my life. The first miracle I received was in this small group when they laid hands on me for the healing of an incurable disease. I was healed that day and now 32 years later I am still healed! Later that year I was prayed for the healing of a heart murmur, and now the doctor s can t hear it! It was a place of encouragement where questions could be asked and answers would be given. Great personal ministry took place. Back in 2006 when the Lord gave me the vision to have Life- Groups at TMH, there were several specifics that would be accomplished: 1. People s giftings in teaching and ministry would be developed. 2. Bible subjects would be taught from a point of personal passion and conviction. 3. Hospitality, personal relationships, and fellowship would flourish. 4. Discipleship would be take place on a regular scheduled basis. 5. Outreach and evangelism would be brought to friends, local neighborhoods, work places, and common public places throughout the city. Page 3
Message from Pastor Jim 6. Mark 15:16-20, would be the model for deliverance, prayer, spiritual authority, the laying on of hands, healing, salvation, and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I tried to come up with a better name for LifeGroups because it s a very common term for small groups. However, words like small, cell, home, or outreach, seemed limited when compared to the word life. The word for life in the Bible is zoe, which stands for life as God has it or the God kind of Life. Life as God has it can t be beat so the name remained LifeGroups. Society has changed over the years and phenomenon s like Facebook and Twitter offer a glimpse for what people really need. It s all about people and relationship. You have heard the statement Christianity is not a religion but a relationship. Ephesians 3:17 says Jesus wants to live in the hearts of men! IN THE HEARTS OF MEN! Now, that s a relationship! Just think of it when we attend the Marriage Supper of the Lamb in Heaven it will be our wedding! The day we (the Bride of Christ) meet the Bridegroom and we become one completely! Marriage is not an institution it s a relationship! Jesus summed all the commandments into two Love God, and Love our Neighbor. LifeGroups offer a place to accomplish both! In the book of Acts chapter 2 verse 46, and chapter 5 verse 42 says the early disciples met in the Temple and then went house to house eating, teaching, and preaching. Acts 2:42 says they continued steadfastly in the Apostle s doctrine, fellowship, breaking bread (eating), and praying. It s obvious these four things are very important to our growth and walk with the Lord. As you can tell, I am very excited about having LifeGroups Page 4
Why I Like LifeGroups as the midweek ministry for TMH. I see great things on the horizon. New leadership, souls, miracles, discipleship, healing, hospitality, fellowship, social connection, outreach, evangelism, prayer, encouragement, boldness, joy, ministry, multiplication, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, growth, and last but not least LIFE! Oh back to that word boldness! Here s a small group prayer meeting to note Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness (Acts 4:29 31). Don t count these groups as a small thing. Don t let them pass you by because you are too busy. Don t let the personal ministry of others pass you by because you feel it is not necessary. If the saints needed it in the early days, we surely need it in the latter days! Remember, they went from the Temple to house to house. We need both! Heavenly Father, I thank you for your anointing upon all our leaders, hosts, and attendees for all our LifeGroups. Your anointing breaks the yoke. You anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and with power for good and for healing those who were oppressed. I thank you now for your presence and anointing in every LifeGroup we offer through TMH. I give you all the glory and praise, In Jesus Name, Amen! Pastor Jim Langlois Page 5

BIBLE STUDIES: GENERAL The Son s Healing Light Audie & Leetah Stanley This group seeks to glorify God by helping people experience His healing light and power in the dark places of their heart, mind and spirit through worship, biblical teaching, and prayer. Just as everyone needs salvation, everyone needs healing. The good news is: Jesus Christ (the SON) accomplished both! Christ s work on the cross is complete, but God is still at work in our lives. Many of today s problems have their roots in our responses to yesterday s wounds. The world s system for dealing with these wounds is based on coping only, but God s plan is for everyone to experience true freedom and absolute healing. This group provides a safe place to learn, share, apply and celebrate the victory of the cross.
