G ATHER C ONFESSION & A SSURANCE CALL TO CONFESSION (Hebrews 4:15 16) Mike Boyd...we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Join me as we draw near his throne of grace and confess together. Hear us, O Lord. From all that threatens what is precious: our families, our communities, our friends, our values, Save us, O Lord. From grief that overwhelms us at the loss of those dear, and grief for an innocence we cannot recover, Save us, O Lord. From enemies we do not understand and who wish to harm us, Save us, O Lord. From cynicism and despair, from anger and lust for retribution, from self righteousness and easy conscience, Save us, O Lord.
