SEPTEMBER 30, 2018 From today s Gospel Reading: "If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off... If your foot causes you to sin, cut it off... And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. Reflection: Jesus tells us to cut off a hand or foot or pluck out an eye if they cause us to sin. We get the point don t we? Sin is serious, not just for us, but for the community. One person might sin; but the whole community suffers especially "the little ones" those whose faith is vulnerable. He s calling us to make whatever changes we must to live his life, He knows making serious change can be as painful as cutting off a limb. So he is here to encourage and enable us. So we ask ourselves: - What necessary changes must I make now to follow Jesus more closely? - What s holding me back? - Do I believe he will be there to help me, once I determine to do something? 3 RD ANNUAL HARVEST DINNER & DANCE Holy Trinity Knights of Columbus served a sumptuous dinner to over 370 people, while enjoying an evening of entertainment and dancing. HOLY TRINITY PRAYER CORNER Lord, do not hold this sin against them, for You are full of mercy and compassion for all. Please give me the grace to forgive so as to imitate Your perfect love Amen. PRAYER FOR REPENTANCE & HEALING Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 7:00pm St. James Cathedral, Seattle The findings of the Pennsylvania Grand Jury and the news of abuse by Archbishop McCarrick have devastated the Church in recent weeks and have left many Catholics feeling deeply angry, disturbed, and hurting. Archbishop J. Peter Sartain and auxiliary bishops Eusebio Elizondo and Daniel Mueggenborg invite all the faithful to join in this service in which we will pray for all victims of clergy sexual abuse, ask forgiveness for the sins of action and inaction on the part of Church leaders, and pray for the renewal the Church needs to protect the vulnerable and proclaim Christ's Gospel with transparency and integrity. This service will mark the beginning of a NOVENA OF PRAYER TO MARY, MOTHER OF THE CHURCH, throughout the Archdiocese of Seattle. All are encouraged to join in the novena beginning on the evening of October 4 and concluding with the weekend Masses on October 13 and 14. 40-DAYS FOR LIFE September 26 through November 4 You are invited to join other Christians in prayer and fasting for an end to abortion.
