TODAY S MESSAGE Pastor Bob begins our focus FANNING THE FLAME about deepening our prayer lives with the message Lord, Teach Us To Pray. ON WEDNESDAY, SEP 10 we will start a new weekly prayer and worship gathering in the sanctuary, 6:45pm, led by Kelly Vavra and Pastor Bob. OUTDOOR BAPTISMS AT THE LAKE We will be doing baptisms at the lake home of Carrie and Grant Crocker (4254-331st Ave NE, Cambridge) TODAY at 6:30pm refreshments to follow the baptisms. MEN S RETREAT The MIBC Men s Fall Retreat at Trout Lake Camp is almost here! The weekend dates are SEP 19-21. Speakers are Ralph and Jared Gustafson and the Worship Leader is Matt Berry (Dale & Sherri Berry s son) from Eagle Brook Church in Lino Lakes, MN. Cost: $100 to stay with the FBC group in a Modern Cabin. Information is available at the Sign Up Center TODAY, and SEP 14. In order to be assured of a cabin, be sure to sign up as early as possible. GRIEFSHARE The next GriefShare is just around the corner, beginning SEP 9, 1:30pm. Join us to receive helpful guidance on handling grief in a positive and helpful manner. This fall we are kicking off a BRAND NEW program on Wednesdays, 6:45pm! KIDS U is for children in grade 1-5. It will begin with a large group lesson focusing on who God is and who we are in Him. Kids will then be able to choose from different 3-week classes, such as building a birdhouse, sewing, baking, Bible Trivia, How to share your faith, and more!...and it s all FREE! Classes available for the first session (3 weeks) are: Group Games Outdoors 101 Painting (watercolors) Chess & Checkers strategy & Playing Baking KIDS CHOIR For kids in grade 1-5. Rehearsals will be Mondays after school, 3:15-4:45pm, beginning Monday, SEP 8. Register online at http:// www.firstbaptist cambridge.org/#/ children/events-forms. Limited seating on the church vans so register TODAY to ensure a spot, if you need. Cost is $25/child with $40 max per family to be paid at the time of registration. EARLY CHILDHOOD VOLUNTEER TRAINING There will be a volunteer training Sunday, SEP 14, 12:15pm, Fireside Room for everyone helping in the Nursery and Toddler rooms this fall. Pizza lunch will be provided. CHILDRENS CHURCH Children (age 4 - grade 1) are dismissed from the 11am service and brought to the Children s Ministry room to learn the love of Jesus through object lessons. Children are picked up by their parents after the service. PARENT CHILD ROOM Located outside the multi-purpose room by the west stairwell, parents are welcome to use the room to care for crying babies, feed infants, change diapers, etc. A privacy curtain can be pulled for nursing. STEPHEN MINISTRY One to one Christian care through friendship and concerned listening when you need it most. Details at the Welcome Center. WELCOME CENTER/MORNING HOSTS Do you have a passion for meeting and welcoming guests to FBC? We would love to have you serve at the Welcome Center and/or be a morning host on Sundays. NEW PATHWAYS COORDINATOR We have 4 teams members (1 for each quarter) and are still looking for an overall coordinator. Job description available in the office and downstairs on the bulletin board. CHILDCARE WORKERS Sundays in the Nursery and Toddler rooms during all services Children s Church - 11am Service Sunday School teachers (4 s & 5 s and 2nd grade boys), 9:45-10:45am KIDS U volunteers (3-week commitments, 6:45-8pm) Contact Burke in the office. DRIVERS First Baptist has a partnership with HOME DELIVERED MEALS and delivers packaged meals to the homebound in our community once a month, Noon - 1pm. Join our team! SARA GROVES CONCERT AND MEDICAL KIT BUILD Medical kits are needed in Kivuruga, Rwanda for those who provide care for AIDS patients. If you would like to support Our Response s effort to provide over 800 kits filled with medical supplies, you can be involved in one or more ways: Buy a ticket for the Sara Groves concert to be held on SEP 27, 7pm, here at First Baptist. Tickets are $20 ($22 at the door); all proceeds will go towards the purchase of medical kits. Make a special donation to help purchase medical kits.
