CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS (please stand) All may make the sign of the cross, the sign marked at baptism, as the presiding minister begins. Gracious God, have mercy on us. We confess that we have turned from you and are held by the power of sin. In your compassion forgive us our sins, known and unknown, things we have done and things we have failed to do. Forgive us for forgetting that all things come from you, for believing that what we receive comes by our own doing, and for neglecting to be faithful stewards of your gospel. Turn us again to you, and uphold us by your Spirit, that we may be given faith, and live and serve you in newness of life through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen. God, who is rich in mercy, loved us even when we were dead in sin, and made us alive together with Christ. By grace you have been saved. In the name of Jesus Christ, your sins are forgiven. Almighty God strengthen you with power through the Holy Spirit, that Christ may live in your hearts through faith. Amen. GATHERING HYMN GREETING The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And also with you. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Let us confess our sin in the presence of God and of one another. Silence for reflection and self-examination. 1 2

HYMN OF PRAISE GOSPEL ACCLAMATION (please stand) PRAYER OF THE DAY Let us pray. Lord, teach us to manage our time, our goods, and our possessions that we might share our abundance with others, so that they may see our good works and give glory to you. Help us to serve wherever you place us, managing the gifts and talents you give us for your glory and the good of others. In the name of Jesus, who came not to be served but to serve. Amen. APOSTLES CREED With the whole church, let us confess our faith. I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. PRAYERS OF THE CHURCH With the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, let us pray for the church, those in need, and all of God s creation. After each petition: Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. The prayers conclude: Into your hands, gracious God, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy; through Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen. 5 OFFERING The children are welcome to come forward and place their offerings in the For Children Everywhere box. OFFERING SONG OFFERING PRAYER (please stand) Let us pray. Blessed are you, O God, maker of all things. Through your goodness you have blessed us with these gifts: ourselves, our time, and our possessions. Use us, and what we have gathered, in feeding the world with your word of life, through the one who gave himself for us, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who taught us to pray Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen. SENDING God blesses us and sends us in mission to the world. BENEDICTION The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord s face shine on you with grace and mercy. The Lord look upon you with favor and give you peace. Amen. SENDING HYMN DISMISSAL Go in peace. Serve the Lord. Thanks be to God!
