Page 2 FROM THE PASTOR... I ve been spending my day really contemplating the past year. By the time you read this, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will have passed. I am sure some laughs will have been shared and some tears will have been shed. You have been amazing! That needs to be said (or printed ). I cannot thank you enough for the many ways you have blessed the Brubaker family gifts, food, more food, kind words, and so much more. Yet what overwhelms me at this moment is the incredible generosity you have shown to women and children in shelter. Last year, at the last minute, we heard from ACCESS-York about a woman who had been beaten so badly she was in critical condition. When she was released from the hospital (just before Christmas), she and her children went to emergency shelter. They left everything behind except the clothes on their backs. Even in your hustle to be ready for your own celebrations, you (then as two congregations) provided this family with an exceptionally lovely Christmas. That family has since been moved to a long-term program where Mom has healed well physically and the children are thriving. And you did it again this Christmas. It is not unusual for folks to have last minute requests, but those requests where families are escaping a dangerous situation and have to leave everything behind and rely on the generosity of strangers to give them hope...well, you GIVE HOPE, Calvary Church. This year, you stepping up (I don't know the total yet) will provide two families with a total of four children a Christmas to celebrate, an opportunity to imagine a better future, and I pray with all my heart that you have planted and/or watered seeds of faith by your generosity. As someone said to me this week, "This little church yes, this little church does so much to change the world, one family at a time. Please continue to celebrate the love, the joy, the peace, and the HOPE of the season. WE ARE HOPE CHURCH! With a Smile & a Prayer, Pastor Tanya Brubaker A PEACEFUL PLACE TO PRAY Calvary s Sanctuary provides a quiet place to pray and focus upon God. You are welcome to come through the office door during scheduled office hours or any time the church is open for activities and meetings when the Sanctuary is available. CHRISTIAN EDUCATION CLASSES 9:15-10:00/10:15 AM Several adult CE classes are held one should be right for you! There are also classes for our young people. Check with Pastors Mike or Tanya or Sue Husson for the current adult CE classes.

Count your joys instead of your woes; Count your friends instead of your foes. Count your smiles instead of your tears; Count your courage instead of your fears. Count your full years instead of your lean; Count your kind deeds instead of your mean. Count your health instead of your wealth; Count on God instead of yourself. -Submitted by Nancy Lewis For your information The office computer has been out of commission for approximately the last five weeks.
