From the Desk of.. Supreme Commander #44 Chip Wampler Hello all you Colonels! I hope that you all had as wonderful of a holiday season as I did! I was expecting a large amount of Seasons Greetings from Colonels around the state, and I am here to report that I got some, but the question is, did you send me one? Another year closes and a new one begins! Did you set a New Year s resolution for yourself? The Tennessee Jaycees are in need of our support and help. We need to be out there supporting our local chapters, chapters in our region, and throughout the state. What can you do to help? You can train, you can call up a Local Chapter President and offer them words of encouragement, you can attend their projects, and anything that you used to do you still can do! As a Corp member we were recognized for our outstanding contributions to the Jaycee organization. When you put the color orange on, that does not mean that your contributions stop. It means that your outstanding contributions just continue! I asked you if you set a resolution for yourself earlier on in this article, only you know the answer to that! What I am asking from you now is that you set a resolution, as a PROUD Corp member to help the Tennessee Jaycees. There are several resolutions you can set, and here are some examples: 1. You can call and offer your support and encouragement to a Local Chapter President! 2. You can sponsor awards for the state organization! 3. You can attend (however many you want to put in here) Jaycee projects! 4. You can submit leadership articles to the Pioneer! 5. You can be a motivator to young Jaycees around our state! Whatever it is that you resolve to do, our state organization will be better off for it! I will say this, if you are negative, wanting to see projects or chapters not do well, or are not working in the best interest of this organization then YOU NEED TO STAY AT THE HOUSE! This includes attendance at everything, including Corp meetings! We need to be positive, encouraging, and cheering on the accomplishments each step of the way! I know that I will be doing this, and I am asking that you act and behave in the same fashion! The Tennessee Jaycees ended 2009 at growth! This is something to celebrate! I encourage all you positive colonels to get your room booked at the headquarter hotel, The Ramada Inn (756 Parkway Gatlinburg, TN. 1-800-933-8678) all reservations MUST be made with the hotel no later than January 26, 2010! (This is this coming Tuesday folks!) Also, your registrations are due by postmark no later than January 26, 2010! If you need a registration form, please feel free to contact our secretary, Denice O Neil, at deniceponeil@aol.com and she will email you one! I look forward to seeing everyone in Gatlinburg among the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains! Proud to wear the Color of ORANGE, YOUR Supreme Commander, Chip Wampler
