LOVE-BOMB MISSION OPPORTUNITY FOR Kids grades K-5: It s time to throw some LOVE BOMBS like we talked about on Pentecost. On Wednesday, June 14 th from Noon to 2 PM (Meet at church at 11:30AM, or on location at 11:55 AM): We are going to sort and re-purpose some donated school supplies so that kids who need them will be fully ready for school when it starts in August. We ll do our sorting on behalf of Scraps KC at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception located at 416 W. 12 th Street, KCMO 64105. We ll be in the Morning Glory Café doing our work. Let me know if you are coming so that we can be sure transportation is arranged. Mindy 480-208-8880. We ll be doing some other LOVE BOMBS MISSION activities throughout the summer, so keep your eyes peeled and let me know how you are LOVE-BOMBing people in your lives! Scraps KC is a non-profit ministry that supports the homeless, kids needing school supplies, and art. They take donated, used art supplies and sell it super cheap to anyone who wants to shop at their store located in the West Bottoms at 1324 W. 12 th Street, Second Floor, 64101. They often employ homeless people to help work in the store. All proceeds go to help homeless ministries, which run out of the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception 416 W. 12 th Street, KCMO 64105. Family Promise will be hosting a volunteer training session the morning of Saturday, June 24th at 9am. Plan on taking a tour of the facility and on being finished by 10:30 am or sooner. The location: The Day Center 4406 NE 45th Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64117. Please let us know if you are a volunteer that will be attending by Wednesday, June 21 st, so that we are able to give them a head count to help with planning. Additionally, if you have any helpful tips or issues that you think would be important to address in the training, please let us so we can pass it along. What I like about Park Hill Christian Church is our God-blessed outreach programs touching so many people in spiritual and physical need. ~Member, Sandy Shipley~ 5
