SWISS AMERICAN CALENDAR 8 Developed by an Ad Hoc Committee appointed by the President of the Congregation, Abbot Vincent Bataille, composed of Abbot Jerome Kodell (Subiaco), Fr. Charles Reichenbacher (Marmion) and Fr. Warren Heitz, Ordofex (Saint Meinrad) on June 19, 2012 Approved by the Abbot President on June 23, 2012 October 6, 2014: Correction. Both the Roman Missal (Third Edition) and the THESAURUS LITURGIAE HORARIUM MONASTICAE (1977) list the observance of Saint Bruno on October 6 as an obligatory memorial. The Roman Missal (Third Edition) lists Blessed Rose Durocher as an optional memorial for the United States. Because the observance of Saint Bruno, as an obligatory memorial, ranks higher than Blessed Marie Rose Durocher, the latter celebration will not be observed in our Congregation. On October 6, only Saint Bruno will be observed as an obligatory memorial. This decision is supported by Abbot Jerome Kodell, Fr. Charles Reichenbacher and Fr. Warren Heitz and affirmed by Abbot President Vincent Bataille. November 15, 2014: Update. The following celebrations were adopted by the Calendar of the Swiss American Congregation: January 23, Saint Marianne Cope, Virgin, optional memorial, USA Calendar; October 5, Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos, Priest, optional memorial, USA Calendar; October 11, Saint John XIII, Pope, optional memorial, Universal Calendar; October 22, Saint John Paul II, Pope, optional memorial, Universal Calendar. Until proper orations are prepared for these observances prayers from the respective commons are to be used.
