Cross International presents Color Their World Gala Friday, October 7, 2016 GARDEN OF THE GODS CLUB & RESORT Join Cross International in bringing nutrition, stability, dignity and the love of Christ to the poor of Nicaragua by providing food and housing. Sponsor Guide

Welcome From OurChairmen Dear Friends, We are reaching out to our friends and business partners to support the Color Their World Gala on October 7, 2016, at the Garden of the Gods Club & Resort. This event will raise funds for food and housing for the poor of Nicaragua. As board members of Cross International, we are working with Rainbow Network and Amigos for Christ to serve the poorest of the poor, both materially and spiritually. We are asking for your support by becoming an EVENT SPONSOR of this gala. As a Sponsor you will receive many tangible benefits for you and/or your company. Please review the information within this Sponsorship Guide for the various sponsorship opportunities. We hope that you will choose to stand with us and make a life-changing difference in a family s life. We will have someone follow up with you in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, if you have any questions don t hesitate to contact either one of us. Sincerely, Jimmy Dodd Bob Hodgdon 1

The Need Poverty and the People of Nicaragua Nicaragua is a beautiful place, but when you look deeper you can see that many of the country s people struggle under a crushing burden of poverty too poor to afford a home or the daily bread necessary to enjoy a healthy, normal life. About 4 million Nicaraguans (approximately 75 percent of the population) live on less than $2 a day, and 48 percent live on less than $1 a day. About one person out of five has no home. As a result, beautiful Nicaragua is considered the poorest Spanish-speaking country in the world. The families hit hardest by these hardships are those living in rural areas. These rural villagers live in unsafe shacks held together with mud, sticks, scraps of wood and plastic sheeting. Because most families own only a single bed, children often sleep on mud floors. Bugs and rodents are often their nightly companions and their health suffers as a result. Can you imagine having so little and trying to keep your family together and healthy? Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done. Proverbs 19:17 2

Our Partners Cross International and its trusted partners Rainbow Network and Amigos for Christ are working to provide better, healthier lives for the people of Nicaragua. Rainbow Network Since its inception in 1995, Rainbow Network has helped tens of thousands of poor families living in Nicaragua s economically depressed rural areas. This Christian ministry is coordinated through a community committee system. Most of Rainbow Network s programs encourage a self-help approach, allowing community volunteers to work together to improve their villages and families. By combining sound biblical and business principles, Rainbow Network is able to minister to the whole person, meeting both their physical and spiritual needs. Each home that is built costs just $5,280 and is a solid cement block house with a cement floor and a metal roof with a door that locks. Amigos for Christ Amigos for Christ is a Christian ministry born as a result of the devastation left by Hurricane Mitch in northern Nicaragua, in the department of Chinandega. John Bland, its founder and director, first visited the area shortly after the storm to see the destruction. He knew right away that God was calling him to commit his life to helping the desperately poor and needy of that part of Nicaragua. Amigos for Christ hasbrought lasting, positive changes to the impoverished families that exist on the margins of society. They have blessed individual lives and transformed entire communities! Each container of Vitafood costs just $15,000 to ship and contains 272,160 meals! There is a tremendous need and you can help! 3

Our Mission Cross International serves the poorest of the poor internationally by channeling aid through existing churches or church-based ministries, cost-effectively helping the poor while advancing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. How We Serve Rather than create new institutions to distribute aid, we support existing ministries and churches already serving the poor. In addition to being the most cost-effective way of helping the poor, empowering these ministries allows us to support the Church s spiritual mission and its important position of leadership in poor communities. Good Stewardship We consider every gift we receive as a precious resource from God. We direct every donation to its intended project, provide honest and accurate reports to our donors, and keep overhead costs to an industry low. We handle funds with utmost integrity and hold our ministry partners in the field to the same high standards by asking them to document costs and the impact of their outreach. These detailed accountability measures have earned us ongoing accreditation by the following organizations: 600 SW 3rd Street, Suite 2201 Pompano Beach, FL 33060 For more information please contact Angie Rodriguez at 800-391-8545 ext. 235 or ARodriguez@CrossInternational.org CrossInternational.org Twitter.com/CrossIntl Facebook.com/CrossInternational blog CrossFieldBlog.com
