Page 3 MCUMC Trustees Meeting Jan. 14, 2016 Attendance: Tom Jones, James York, Shirley Crysel, Marcia Faw, Brain Childress, Scott Perry, Rev. Jacob Kyker. Meeting called to order at 7:00pm. Rev. Kyker opened with prayer. Officers for 2016 we are: President: Tom Jones Vice-President: Perry McNeil Secretary: Scott Perry Old business: One of the outside lights is out. It was checked out and decided that it needed a new censer. Other items discussed were the trees in the parking lot may need to be trimmed before they get to large, and the company that striped the parking lot will correct the spelling on the visitor space. New business: Our out building need to be keep organized in order that we can use it more efficiently. When putting Church items in our building they need to put in a proper place and not left in the floor and only Church items are to be stored. We need to see about placing reflects at the driveway so that the entrance can be seen better at night. Tom Jones closed with prayer. United Methodist Women The UMW had their first meeting of the new year on Tuesday, January 5th, 2016 at 7:00 in the Fellowship Hall of the old church with Mary Edna Faw presiding. Pastor Kyker was our guest speaker. He presented a thoughtful program about all the blessings God has bestowed upon us and to strive to keep an attitude the same as Jesus. The world we live in today will not always provide justice to everyone but our heavenly Father will give loving justice to each of us. We would like to thank everyone for being so generous in their donations to the Socks and Undergarments campaign for children in need at Millers Creek Elementary School. Your generosity has been outstanding! So far, we have delivered 79 undergarments and 220 pairs of socks to MCES which are greatly appreciated. All donations will be accepted through February. Our delicious refreshments Tuesday night were provided by Gayle Benton and Jackie Lankford. The next meeting of the UMW will be on Tuesday, February 2nd in the Fellowship Hall of the old church beginning at 7:00. Plan to come join us! Pastor Kyker also installed the 2016 officers of the MCUMW. President Vice President Treasurer Secretary Mary Edna Faw Gayle Benton Shirley Hudler Lyn Jones Administrative Council Meeting The Administrative Council met Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 6 pm. Financial reports were given by Bill Isenhour, chairman of the Finance Committee. Chairman of Trustees, Tom Jones, addressed plans to repair minor issues in and around the church building. Rev. Kyker addressed the Council, providing answers to some recent questions regarding the church's accounting practices. Updates were given by leaders of the following areas: Kid's Clubs (Susan Isenhour); Mission and Outreach (Vickie Dancy); Dunkirk UMC, MCUMC United Methodist Men, and Layspeaker Ministry (Kenny Bumgarner). Mike Dancy, Administrative Council chairman, requested that anyone who wishes to

Page 3 bring business or information to board meetings provide their business to him at least one week prior to meetings so that he can give proper attention to them at the meetings. A full copy of the minutes will be available after approval of the Administrative Council at the next meeting, which is scheduled Sunday, Feb. 21, at 6 pm. Personal property, household items, furnishings, collectibles, video tapes, books, decorations, tools, canning jars, hardware and miscellaneous items from Rob s stores, etc., will be for sale. The first weekend (Feb. 12-13) will be advertised only to members of Millers Creek United Methodist Church, and the second weekend (Feb. 19-20) to church members and the general public.

Ash Wednesday is February 10th. In celebration of the beginning of Lent, a time of selfdenial, prayer & fasting in the Christian life, we will have service at 7:00pm. Kids Club is planning a game night for Sat. Feb. 13th from 5-8 (snow date will be Feb. 20th). We will serve a light dinner. The kids can bring a game that multiple children can play. Parents please help us by donating a little time to help us: set up, feed everyone, or clean up. You are welcome to leave your child with us, but we need a few manpower minutes to make these types of activities successful. Preschool Registration is open for 3 & 4 year olds. If you are interested please contact the Preschool at 838-8049 no later than February 14 th. Registration will then be open to the general public & will operate on a 1st come 1st serve basis. Applications are located at each entrance.
