Parish Hike on Saturday October 6th (Rain Date is Monday Octotber 8th!) Every autumn hiking parishioners from Ascension Church set their sights on hiking one of the many beautiful trails available to us in New England. We find a date that works and a day hike good for legs and heart with views satisfying to eyes and soul. This year we are choosing Pawtuckaway State Park (Nottingham, NH) for being moderately challenging (we will hike up to the Fire Tower), dog friendly, not far by car, and with a great dinner option nearby at the Tuckaway Tavern for a satisfying post-hike dinner together. If you would like to participate you can meet us at the Pawtuckaway State Park at the dog-friendly, Round Pond Entrance at 1 pm. Also, if you wish to car pool to the park, meet up in the AMC Parking Lot at 11:45 am, cars leaving at noon. Our hike will commence at 1:30 pm. Please express your interest in going by calling 978-356-2560 or emailing the Parish Office amcipswich@verizon.net. Let us know if you can make it. More information and detailed map will follow. Get your boots out and mark the date! Enjoy coffee and breakfast pastries before heading off for a scenic 3-mile loop along the shore and through downtown Beverly. On Saturday, October 13, join neighbors and friends to support. The 5thAnnual Walk begins and ends at seaside Lynch Park. Tee-shirt pick-up starts at 8:00 a.m. Helping families who experience homelessness has never been so easy or enjoyable. Please join us and show your support! Register or donate online, and find out more at www.familypromisensb.org

FALL 2018 FUNDRAISING EVENTS - YOU CAN HELP! ADD YOUR NAME TO THE LIST! Our many thanks to all who have given and continue to donate food items to our local Open Door Food Pantry. Last week we delivered all the items that have been generously dropped into the Giving Box to Lucas, the Food Pantry manager. He is always so grateful and asked us to convey his thanks to our parishioners. So, thank you to all who have already and all who will continue to drop non-perishable items and paper goods into the very colorful Giving Box on your way into the church. Please note the display of autumn colors alongside the beautiful flower arrangements. We like bringing a little more of the outside in. AMC Youth Group Greetings AMC Parents and AMC Youth Coordinators, Please find attached the AMC Youth Schedule for 2018-2019 with Sunday, October 21, 2018 highlighted in RED. Scheduling our lives and those of our children is incredibly challenging. I hope to make that easier at AMC this year. AMC Acolyte Training for youth ages 8 to 18 will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 4-7PM. The Acolyte Training will be followed by a Pizza Dinner in St. Matthew s Parlor which in turn will be followed by an AMC Youth Meeting for Junior and Senior High Youth. The Junior and Senior High Youth Program will share most events in common with several exceptions for which age matters. I am pleased with this year s AMC Youth Schedule. Our youth will have plenty of opportunity for fun, serving others, reflecting on life and faith, travel, overnights, and more. Please mark down in your busy calendars these two dates: Get out and hike with fellow parishioners of all ages in Pawtuckaway State Park in New Hampshire on Saturday, October 6th. A scenic, moderate, 6-mile hike with dinner at Tuckaway Tavern to follow. Watch for details regarding departure time and carpooling in this week s Tidings. Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 4-7pm will be the kick-off for both the AMC Acolyting and AMC Youth programs. Looking forward to a really great year of engaging the hearts and minds of all our AMC Youth. God s peace, Brad+
