Dear Parish Family & Friends, Welcome to the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time and the beautiful Season of Fall! The grace of God is spread all over the earth. It comes to us in many ways, often through the unlikeliest of people, or in the unlikeliest of situations. As we celebrate Mass today, let us reflect on how we have experienced God's grace in our lives, and open ourselves to the possibility of receiving it at any time, in any place. The Word Speaks To Us: For years, the Israelites looked to Moses to speak on the Lord's behalf. Similarly, the disciples looked to Jesus to drive out demons. But today, we hear first of God bestowing the gift of prophecy on seventy elders, and then of a stranger driving out demons in Jesus' name. Moses and Jesus respond the same way to the objections of others: the Spirit of the Lord is upon these people. They are on our side. Questions of The Week: In what ways do I put too much faith in temporary things that bring me perishable wealth and comfort? How can I express the Spirit of God, Who I received at my Baptism, to others? October Feast Days: Monday, October 1st: St. Therese of the Child Jesus Mass at St. Mary of the Angels at 7:00am Tuesday, October 2nd: The Holy Guardian Angels Mass at St. Mary of the Angels at 7:00am Wednesday Evening, October 3rd: The Transitus of St. Francis of Assisi A special service marking the passing of St. Francis, 6:00pm at St. Mary of the Angels Thursday October 4th: St. Francis of Assisi Mass at Ss. Peter & Paul at 8:00am, followed by Coffee & Sweets in the Fr. Schuh Hall Please bring something to pass and share. Friday, October 5th: First Friday Mass at Ss. Peter & Paul at 8:30am Confessions and Rosary beginning at 8:00am 4 Saturday, October 6th: First Saturday Mass at Ss. Peter & Paul at 8:30am Confessions and Rosary beginning at 8:00am Refreshments and Fatima 1st Saturday Program follows in Fr. Schuh Hall, ending by 10:45am. Saturday, October 13th: Annual Rosary Rally for Peace and the Family, Sponsored by the Green Bay Division of the World Apostolate of Fatima ~ Our Lady s Blue Army Held at The Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help - Commences following the shrine s 11am Mass, and includes: Lunch on your own (bring what you want, or buy from the shrine café), 1:30pm Fatima Talk, 2pm Outdoor Procession with International Rosary, Exposition and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, ending around 3:00pm. Remember: October is the Month of the Most Holy Rosary! Please make it a Family Tradition to pray the Rosary together. As Venerable Father Patrick Peyton always reminded us, The Family that Prays Together, Stays Together! Peace and All Good, Fr. Tony, O.F.M. Pastor Holy League Men s Holy Hour Can anyone seriously doubt that the times in which we are now living call for men to step up and stand strong? All Catholic Men, and their sons, are invited to join together this coming Thursday, October 4th, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, for a Holy Hour in which we will stand and kneel strongly as MEN, and intercede for our Families, our Parish, our Nation, and for the Holy Catholic Church. We begin at 5:30pm, in Church. Will You Not Watch One Hour With Me? Attention: Communion Ministers, Lectors, and Greeters: The Diocese has revised and updated the Annual Volunteer Agreement form which we are required to have signed and on file in the Parish Office for ALL parish volunteers. Blank forms are available near the Lay Ministry Sign-in Book on the table (by the elevator entrance). Please take a minute to sign a copy of this form and place it in the box marked Signed Volunteer Agreement Forms. Thank You for your continued service to our parish and for your cooperation in getting these forms signed.
