SVP AWARENESS MONTH The Society of St Vincent de Paul will hold its annual Mass for the Sick at 10.30am, next Saturday at St Cuthbert Mayne Church. The Sacrament of the sick gives strength, peace and courage to face the difficulties of serious illness or the frailty of old age. A serious illness need not be life-threatening and the elderly may be anointed if they become noticeably weakened, even if no serious illness is present. There will be a talk by Peter Hazard, SVP member, and a special collection after all Masses next weekend for the SVP Disaster Fund, for the district of Kerala in India, to help in relief and rebuilding work.
