IN MY FATHER'S NAME O Righteous Father,...I have declared unto them Thy Name, and will declare it. John 17:25, 26 MY FATHER'S NAME The Wise-Man posed a question for us to answer. In speaking of the Eternal Creator, he asked: "What is His Name? And what is His Son's Name? If thou canst tell."-- Prov. 30:4. You may quickly answer, "That's easy. His name is Jesus." But will your answer prove itself by the Scriptures. Remember, if one speaks not according to the Scriptures, it is because there is no light in his speech:-isa. 8:20. The Saviour answered the question Himself, saying, "I am come in My Father's name." John 5:43. I believe this! Do you? That the Saviour bore His Fathers name while here on earth? If not, why not? You ask, "Is it not Jesus?" The answer is obvious: Jesus is not, and cannot be the name. Then what is the real name? Lets reason on the name Jesus. This word name comes from the Greek, where it appears as IE-SOUS, which really is a compound word, made up of the names of two pagan deities, IE (pronounced EE-AYE) and ZEUS, spelled "Sous" and "Sus" when it is a terminal of a per-

son's name. Example, "Elisha" (El-i-sha) became "EI-i Sous" under the hands of Hellenized translators in the Greek Version of the Old Scriptures and "Eli-Seus" in the Gospels.-Luke 4:2 7. The fact is, as scholars tell us, the ancients attached the name of their deities to personal names, just as the Israelites did with the name Yah, as "'EI-i-Yah," "Yerem-Iah," "Isa-Yah," and when "Oshea" became "Yah- Oshea" (English, Joshua), in Numbers 13:16. The Greeks did not worship Yahweh, the El of the Hebrews, but rather Zeus, and a pantheon of all deities, and so they attached the names of these deities to their children, and even renamed famous men after them.-acts 14:12. See also Dan. 1 :7. A few years ago the writer was receiving instruction in Hebrew from a Jewish rabbi, and after the lesson was finished we eventually drifted into a conversation on religion, and naturally the Man of Galilee came into the discussion, as I had planned. One day after an interesting study on the Saviour, based upon Psalm 2:2, 7, 12, and Isa. 53rd chapter, the Rabbi fell back upon this old subterfuge, and said, after this manner, "I know that the Elohim doeth nothing except He reveals it first unto His prophets (Amos 3:7), so if the Galilean were the Messiah, then His Name would have been revealed in the Hebrew Scriptures; and I do not think you can find the name Jesus there."

I was caught off guard, but still believed I could convince the Rabbi, but I couldn't recall a text with the name Jesus referring to the Messiah in all the prophets. But I promised the Rabbi I would look it up in my concordance at home, and tell him at the next lesson session; but I never did, for "Jesus is not the Name." As I said in an earlier paragraph, the Greeks, like all others, liked to give the names of their deities to famous men, and as they changed Elisha into El-i-Seus, commemorating Zeus, so they did likewise to the greatest name given under heaven, they changed the name of the Messiah into Ie-Sous, a name made by combining the names of Ie (Ee-Aye) and Zeus. Now "IE" (EA) is the Babylonian deity of healing (A New Std. Bible Dict. p. 819). Of Zeus, Hislop says, "It has been all along well known that the Greeks occasionally worshipped the supreme deity under the title 'Zeus the Saviour'." The Two Babylons. Therefore in the combination of IE and ZEUS, we have the modern form IE-SOUS (Jesus) which contains the primitive meaning of "Zeus our Healer," instead of the Name which the angel gave unto the "to be born" Messiah. Our Saviour prayed to the Father, saying, "While I was

with them I kept them in Thy Name, which thou hast given me" (Jo. 17:12, Amer. Std. Ver.). Now I recall again the Saviours words, "I am come in my Fathers name" (Jo. 5:43), and one can readily see that the Savior did not come in the name of Jesus, for no where in all the Hebrew inspired Scriptures do we find Jesus as the name of the Father. The Name any father gives to his son is his own name. For instance: An earthly fathers name is "Smith," because that happened to be the name of his parent. The son bears the name of the parent. It is a common law of all peoples. The Fathers name is Smith, so the Sons name is Smith, or whatever name the father bears. If we claim that Jesus is the Messiah's name, then He is not the Son of the Most High, for the Eternal's name is not Jesus. If we hold to the fallacy that the Saviours name was Jesus, then we fail to establish His Son ship, for as we quoted above, "I am come in my Father's name," is the standard for us. But, beloved, the Man of Galilee was the Son of the Most High, and His claim stands the test of the Scriptures. The Father's primary name is Yah (Exo. 17:16, Hebrew text) "Sing unto the Mighty One (Elohim), sing praises unto His Name: extol Him...by His Name YAH (JAH)..."-- Psa. 68:4. Throughout the Psalms, in Exodus and Isaiah, in the Hebrew, we find this name frequently. But in the Hebrew

Scriptures the name is more often found in the longer form YHWH (a compound of YAH plus HAWEH), pronounced Yahweh (Yahway) in the English form. "Haweh has the primary meaning of "Self existent," "Eternal," or "Ever living," and so the Fathers name carries this thought, "YAH the ever living," or "YAH the Eternal." The Twentieth Century Unabridged Dictionary says, "Aramaic (was) the language of Palestine under the captivity, in which tongue (Messiah) and his disciples spoke." Luke records that an angel came down from heaven and appeared unto the Hebrew maid Miriam (Mary) and revealed to her that she was to bear a son under the power of the Holy Spirit, and then gave her the name by which it would be called. There is no plausible reason why an angelic messenger would give a non-hebrew name to the Hebrew Messiah. No plan of reasoning can support the idea that the angel gave the Hebrew maiden a Greek name for her child-tobe, and that name made up of the two pagan deities, i.e., IE (Ea) and Zeus. "It is interesting that throughout his life (the one now known as) Jesus Christ never did hear himself called by that name. 'Jesus' was the Greek word for the Hebrew (Yahshua) 'Josh ua' or 'Joshua'; and 'Christ or 'Christus' was the Greek word for 'Messiah' or 'Redeemer'. Man's Great Adventure," by Dr. Edwin W. Pharlow, professor of history, Ohio State University.

Now here is plain evidence in your King James Version that the name Yahshua (Joshua, English) was changed into Jesus. See Acts 7: 45, margin, referring to the son of Nun, and Heb. 4:8, margin, as referring to our Messiah. The name Yahshua originated in the time of Moses, when Oshua the son of Nun was renamed by Moses and called Yah-Oshua. "Oshua" means "Deliverer," while "Yah -Oshua" means "Yah-is-Deliverer." Num. 13:16. The name as given by the angelic messenger, YAH- Oshua, carries within itself the heavenly Fathers own Name, which we learned from Psalm 68:4, for instance, was Yah. Whenever HalleluYah appears in the Scriptures, it is really a sentence, and means, "Praise ye YAH." And, so, the Fathers name YAH is found in His only begotten's Son's Name of YAHshua. May we illustrate with a common name. An earthly fathers family name is "Smith," and his given name, to distinguish him from all others is "John," and so we have, as you'll find such listed in telephone directories, etc., as "SMITH-John." His son would also be a member of the "Smith" family, but he would be called "SMITH-Henry" to set him apart from his father, or others of the Smith family. Let us now apply this to the name of the Father and the Son. The Wise man asked, "What is His name and what is His son's name," Well the Son's name is whatever the Fathers name is. The Fathers name is not Lord, nor God,

nor Jesus, nor Christ, hence this is not the Son's name. Paul said, "I bow my knees unto the Father of our Master Yahshua the Messiah, of whom the whole family In heaven and earth is named" Eph. 3:14, 15. Again Paul declares, that the Father "has highly exalted him (Yahshua) and given him a name which is above every name." Phil. 2:9. The Name a father gives His son is his own name. The name by which a family is known is the name of the Father. The Saviours name, yea, the name of the entire family of Yahweh's children here on earth and in heaven is that name above every name, the name of YAH. Lets not forget this truth. Psalm 68:4, and elsewhere, declares that the Fathers name is YAH (Jah) ; but He is known as YAH-HAWEH (Yahweh), or YAH-the Eternal. Since the "whole family in heaven and in earth is named after the Father, then we would expect the "only begotten Son" to bear the Fathers family name, and this we find in the angelic-given name of YAH-hoshua, meaning YAH- Deliverer, or YAH-Saviour. Yes, as there are Smiths-John and Smiths Henry, so are there Yahweh and His Son Yah shua. "I am come in My Fathers name."

The Revelator saw a vision on Patmos, the servant class, which shall serve the Father and the Son, and behold they bore the "family name," the name of YAH, upon their fore heads. John recorded, "I saw, and behold, the Lamb standing upon the mount Zion, and with him an hundred and forty and four thousand, having His Name and the Name of His Father, (one name) written on their foreheads." -Rev. 14:1 A.S.V. The world, in its sin, and Christianity, in its delusion, call the Saviour of the World by the names of pagan deities, and the "people love it so." But, some day the Son will stand upon mount Zion; and, if we are qualified to stand there with Him, we shall have emblazoned up on our foreheads the Fathers exalted and sacred Name, the name of YAH, as in Yahweh and Yahshua. Permit the Holy Spirit to have right-of-way in your heart this moment, and fulfill Hosea 2:16, 17, completely in your life. Surrender today, and permit Yahweh's Saviour, Yahshua the Messiah, to adopt you into the heavenly Family, where you will, too, be worthy to bear the Fathers saving name. "Whosoever shall call upon the name of Yahweh shall be saved" (Joel 2:32; Rom. 10: 13). Both the Old Scriptures and the New declare this wonderful truth. Have you done this? Beloved, accept Yahshua today, that your sins may be forgiven, and a new life begun.

Hallelu-YAH!
