Hawkins County Pregnancy HELP Center By Kelly Snodgrass This has been a very busy month for the Pregnancy Help Center. First, we had DOUBLE BLESSINGS!! We have had TWO sets of TWINS born in the last month! Both mothers and all babies are doing great! Next, I had the opportunity to visit The Mission in Hancock County where they will be opening a new Pregnancy Help Center for the residents of Hancock County. I was able to talk with Shainia Greene and help with some planning for the Center. Shainia is very passionate about helping the women and children of Hancock County and I am so excited for this new Center. In June, The Hawkins County Pregnancy Center Board approved a financial donation to help with the starting costs of the new Hancock Center. The Center in Hancock County should be opening sometime this fall. I was blessed to have a booth at the Hawkins County Fair, and a table at the Hawkins County Health Department baby shower. At both events, I was able to pass out some information about the Center and explain our mission to some potential clients. Both events are a great way to learn about the many resources available to families in Hawkins County. Promise Class at Henard s Chapel was a great blessing. It was great to get together with the Promise moms after summer break. We had a fabulous meeting and wonderful meal prepared by the WMU ladies of Henard s Chapel. Lucinda Long was the speaker. She did a lesson on the Lost Sheep Parable (Luke 15) and gave personal testimony of how God has been faithful to her. I am looking forward to next month s Promise Class at Persia Baptist Church.
