Quoad Omnia or Quoad Sacra Constitution for the West Kirk On Sunday morning 10 th March after morning worship, the congregation will have to vote on whether or not they will decide to change our constitution to Quoad Sacra A detailed explanation of what is involved was published in the combined December/January edition of The Link and will also appear in the February edition. Members are asked to read all the details regarding this type of constitution BEFORE the voting day and if any member has a question regarding any part of this then they should contact the Session Clerk, Stewart MacRae. Telephone number: (01506) 872486 e-mail: asmacrae@btinternet.com Why the Recommendation for Change? The Kirk Session believes that the work of Session at the West Kirk can be strengthened by adopting this well tried and tested method of working with a Session and Board. It sees this possible change as giving empowerment to the congregation and allowing a wider scope for involvement and use of talents. Many members may feel reluctant to take on the role and responsibility of the eldership. Board membership, with a maximum term of 3 years at a time, allows individuals the ability to give of their talents to the church as their circumstances allow instead of fearing long term commitment. Have you thought about this important proposed change? Do you know what a Congregational Board has as members? Details are all in the February edition of The Link
