Therefore, KSGVY has chosen the following areas for the interventions and the activities conducted so far are given below. 1. Education[Shikshan]: It was observed that students coming from tribal and economically backward areas do not have basic material to pursue their education such as school bags, notebooks etc. To help the genuinely needy student with these basic equipments KSGVY in collaboration with Sewa-Sahayog foundation distributed 4146 School kits in forty-two schools of Wada, Mokhada, Jawhar, Vikramgad Talukas. Preliminary meeting was held with Dr. Dhuri. We are collaborating with local farmers to increase drumstick cultivation in near future. 4. Water [Jal] - In palghar area there is ample amount of rainfall but due to geographical conditions the soil and land cannot hold the water hence farmers every year faces a water scarcity for their agricultural use. - We are planning to have few initiatives to retain this natural water for that a Jal committee has been formed Dr.Umesh Mundale who is currently advisor to the Chief Minister, Govt. of Maharashtra and few other water experts are the members of the team who have done successful experiments to conserve the water and also currently a survey is being conducted to know the village wise water conditions. 5. Few other activities are being planned out in this direction. 9. Government Schemes: - Govt. has framed various schemes for the rural development but people are not able to gain benefits due to lack of knowledge and many other factors. KSGVY office of wada is preparing to become a voluntary centre to provide all necessary guidance and assistance to local people. - Recently applications of [ ] Yuva were submitted for Gram Vikas Fellowship offered by the Chief Minister of maharashtra. Similarly office would assist people to gain benefits of these Govt Schemes.. 10. This data would be analysed later to decide the future course of action related to all fields mentioned above. Connecting Urban Yuva with Rural Area: Connecting urban and rural youth is one of the major objectives of KSGVY. Hence Every urban yuva karyakarta has taken one village and they are coordinating rural development activities with the villagers. Every month KSGVY office sends a letter of monthly updates to all Urban Yuva Karyakartas. Vanyatra: KSGVY hosted a two days travel program where twenty-two participants from Mumbai visited around fifteen unique places belonging to the Palghar district. Vanyatris enjoyed being in the serene atmosphere in the laps of mountains & waterfalls. Also, various activities were conducted to understand the village system. Two new Vanyatra modules are being worked out. Village youth will be involved in the frequently organised Vanyatras. We have received overwhelming response from both the sides and Urban Yuva has showed immense enthusiasm to work for the Gram vikas. Many of them have started

visiting their villages and they are planning new initiatives for the development of village. Different modules of the Vanyatra - KSGVY is offering one and two days vanyatras for all those enthusiasts and especially urban people willing to know the villages and unique tribal culture in the company of soothing environment. Gram karyakartas will be involved in the execution of these frequently hosted Vanyatras. - Best NGO projects, Historical, Religious places, pilgrimage, geographically beautiful locations and few important villages would be visited by the Vanyatris during this period of time. Diwali-Sneh Milan: has been planned for this diwali, Yuva Urban Karyakartas have scheduled their visits to their respective villages in coordination with Gram Karyakarta. They will celebrate Diwali in the village and will understand the village culture by visiting few places and interacting with them. KSGVY is facilitating cohesive work of the NGOs NGO Meeting: KSGVY has taken this initiative to bring multiple NGOs on one platform to enable them to collaborate & work together with cooperation. Once in three months all NGO representatives come together and share updates regarding the recent initiatives and work done by their organisation, this has helped to connect NGOs working in various different fields. Recently, on 12th Sept 2017, NGOs that are working in the various areas of the Palghar district attended the meeting. Also, Dr Prasanna Patil conducted a session on Corporate Social Responsibility - Landscape & Opportunity to educate NGO representatives about how to get benefit of CSR funds in their activities.

The Way Forward We have received a overwhelming response while conducting our activities, which is beyond our expectations. Our work is solely inspired by

the principles of mutual trust, cooperation, team-work and sustainable development. KSGVY wada office would be instrumental in all the future developmental interventions. Urban Yuva and Rural Yuva are key elements in our Gram-Vikas Movement and their collaborative activities would definitely empower the rural Yuva and association of Urban Yuva with villages would connect the Urban and Rural area forever. Also, there are many NGOs working in the palghar district in the various sectors of the development. We will be going one step ahead to motivate them to collaborate and work together with mutual trust and we are sure that their expertise of the multiple sectors would help a lot in the direction of achieving sustainable development. We believe, together we will be able to make our villages a much much better place.
