Notes for the Guardian (The ages below are as per Islamic year) 1 : (1) As per traditions of Masomeen asws, little childern are treated to be rulers (without disciplining/forcing them to learn), so let them play until they reach the age of 7 years (Islamic calendar but 6 years and 8 months in Christian calendar). 2 (2) Abdullah bin Fazala has narrated from Imam Jafar-e-Sadiq asws who reported on his father Imam Mohammed Baqir asws that when your child reaches the age of three years ask ا ل ا للاه say him/her to years, seven times. Then wait until child reaches the age of three ا ل إ لا اه إ seven months and twenty days, then ask them to recite هم اح امد ار هسو هل ا للا seven times.and اصلاى ا للاه times then wait until child reaches the age of four, then ask the child to recite seven. After that wait until he/she reaches age of five, then ask him/her which one اعلاى هم اح امد او آل ه is their right hand and which one is their left hand, if the child has begun to recognise their right and left then ask him/her to perform prostration towards Kabah. Child should be left until child reaches the age of seven, then he/she should be asked to wash his/her hands and face and offer salat. The child should be left alone until he/she reaches nine years, then he/she should be taught how to perform ablution and at this stage child should be disciplined to learn ablution and salat and start offering salat. When child would learn ablution and salat, inshaallah azwj, his parent will be forgiven. 3 1 Islamic year has 354 days as compared with 365 days in the Christian year. 2 Jama-ul-Akhbar, ch. During that time, no one will find salvation (from misinterpretation of religion) expect those who would be regularly recting the following supplication: ي ا الل ه ي ا ر ح م ان ي ا ر ح يم ي ا م ق ل ب ال ق ل وب ث ب ت ق ل ب ي ع ل ى د ين ك ("YA ALLAHO YA REHMAN YA RAHEEM YA MUQALLEBAL QULOOB SABIT QALBI ALA DEENAIK") O Allah azwj, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful, the One who Changes hearts (of people), Give me steadyfastness in Your azwj Deen (religion). 4 After repeating 'Muqallebal Quloob' the narrator added the word, 'Wal absaar' (and the vision). Upon hearing this, Imam asws said, Indeed Allah azwj is the One Who Changes the hearts and vision, but you recite the Dua as I asws have instructed you." كمالالدين ج : 2 ص : 352 4 7 out of 7
