IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY April 15, 2018 Third Sunday of Easter MORE COUNTERS ARE NEEDED!! If you have a bit of time available on Monday mornings we need some more people to help count the weekly collection. We do this in teams. Right now we have 2 teams so it would only be an every other week commitment. Please call the rectory if you are interested or email ihmchurch@comcast.net. BELIEVING IN JESUS CHRIST Throughout the Easter season, all three of the Sunday readings are taken from the New Testament-the Christian scriptures. Together they explore what it means to believe in Jesus as the Christ, the One who fulfilled the prophecies of the Jewish scriptures. Today's selections refer to our human weakness, yet they emphasize the forgiveness and peace that are available to those who put their faith in "Jesus Christ the righteous one" (1 John 2:2). In the Acts of the Apostles Peter invites everyone to "repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away" (Acts 3:19). The First Letter of John calls Jesus Christ "expiation for our sins" (1 John 2:2). Finally, in the Gospel Jesus greets the disciples with "Peace" and urges them to preach "repentance, for the forgiveness of sins" (Luke 24:47). Copyright (c) J. S. Paluch Co., Inc. The offering for April 7/8: $2334 In order to meet our expenses, we need to collect at least $2500 in our weekly offering! Please remember us when you are away or attending Mass at a different parish. Thank you for continued financial support. God Bless You! PLEASE RETURN If you have taken a hot beverage carafe and/or dish towels home from an event in the Parish Hall to clean please return them as soon as possible. We use the hall frequently. Thank you. Page 2 A Prayer for Easter Christ is risen, we are risen! shed upon us heavenly grace, rain and dew and gleams of glory from the brightness of thy face; that we, with our hearts in heaven, here on earth may fruitful be, and by angel hands be gathered, and be ever, Lord, with thee. Alleluia, Alleluia!
