Question? Skin Color What is responsible for skin color? Answer: A biological pigment known as melanin. Everyone's body contains about the same number of melanocytes, but the amount of melanin in these cells is genetically determined.
Geneticists have designated these genes: AaBb Skin Color Capital A and B indicate dominant genes lots of melanin Little a and b indicate recessive genes not much melanin Thus: AABB = darkest skin possible aabb = lightest skin possible
What is the condition called in which someone has no melanin in their skin? Using this information, we can build a punnet square to tell us the genes (and color) of the offspring. So what was likely the genetics of Adam & Eve? 1. AABB x AABB? 2. aabb x aabb? 3. AABB x aabb? 4. AaBb x AaBb?
