PRELUDE Nocturne in E flat Major Frederic Chopin (A time for meditation in preparation for worshipping God) WORDS OF WELCOME CALL TO WORSHIP (from John 1:1-5 and Genesis 1:27-28, 31) Leader: People: Leader: People: In the beginning was the Word In the beginning, we were created in God s image. And the word was with God, and the word was God. God saw everything God had made, and it was very good. What has come into being in Christ was life, and the life was the light of all people. We are created in God s image. We are created to be good. We are created to be loved. We are God s light in this world. Let us worship Christ and be the light. Amen. --Adapted, Rev Mindi, Rev-o-lution *OPENING HYMN--Hark! The Herald Angels Sing (Jesus, the Light of the World ) Black No. 160 *INVOCATION OF GOD S PRESENCE (IN UNISON) Almighty God, Your Spirit swept over the waters of creation; You are sweeping over us now, creating something new. Call us away from the distractions of the world to experience what You are doing now, in us, and through us, and in our world. Open us to a new awakening, a new beginning, where we look through the lens of the goodness of Your creation, experiencing all possibilities in You. Turn us away from the negative lens, and lead us to the light. In the name of Jesus, who leads us into life, and who taught us to pray *Please stand as you are able.

*THE LORD S PRAYER (IN UNISON) Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.
