The Holy Nativity Search Committee Almighty God, look graciously on the people of Holy Nativity. Be with us and lead us as we seek the next rector for our church. We ask your direction and guidance for those who shall choose our new spiritual leader that we may receive an upright and faithful pastor who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries. Grant us perception, faithfulness and joy, so that we may hear your voice in all our deliberations. Grant us also the desire and the ability to truly hear each other and those who have entrusted us with this process. Give us courage to respond and act as you lead us. Come Holy Spirit. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Soup & Salad Luncheon- Sept. 30 th We would like to welcome everyone back with a fellowship lunch after the 10 a.m. service on September 30 th. You are invited to meet with the Rev Bryan after the 10 am service on October 7 to discuss a return to a more expended role which this ministry enjoyed in the past. I also invite those currently involved or those who may be interested in this ministry to attend. Blessings Bob Crafts & Chats Quilt Raffle The ladies are gearing up for their annual quilt raffle. Tickets will be available for sale after the 10 am services and at the Fall Fair. Tickets are $2 each or 3 tickets for $5. Back to Bible Study On Thursday September 20 at 10.30 we will resume our weekly bible study. Each week we dive deep into the readings for the upcoming Sunday and find that the worship experience is deeper and more meaningful when we have a better understanding of God s word. All are welcome! Pints with Jamie Following Sunday services we often have conversations about things in the news and try to make sense of them in light of our faith and our beliefs. Last year in order to keep the conversations going, Pints with the Priest was created. It was such a hit that the group continued to meet weekly throughout the year. In Tara s absence, the group was lovingly renamed Pints with Jamie and continued to meet on Monday nights. Pints with Jamie will begin meeting again on Monday September 10 @ 7 pm at the Legion on Horton Road. For any questions or topic suggestions, please contact Jamie: dodds.jamesp@gmail.com. All are welcome!

Please join us and help us say thank-you to these five individuals for their faithful service to the Diocese of Calgary. Cathedral Poppy Project: This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Great War. To commemorate the occasion, the Cathedral asked people from across the city to knit and crochet poppies. Some of our Tuesday Crafts and Chats ladies have been knitting and crocheting since the spring. Our group has donated 374 poppies! The cathedral s goal was a random number of 5,000 poppies- they now have over 6,000! They are in the process of tying them onto netting, which will then be hung on the outside walls of the cathedral for their Remembrance Day service on November 11th. If you would like to see the display once they get the poppies hung, you can head down to the cathedral. They hope to have the poppies by October 22 and they will remain there until November 12th.
