God earnestly desires to be Gracious to you Brendan Mc Crossan

God earnestly desires to be gracious to you. Brendan Mc Crossan copyright@4-10-2011 One God wants to be gracious to you, yes that s you who read this! Isaiah -30-18- Amplified Bible you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favour, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship]! Therefore he lifts himself up, that gives me the impression that God was sitting on his throne and leaned forward, to listen to and to impart a blessing to you. God loves us and desires to be gracious to us it is his will to bless us in many ways, and he is always looking for new ways to bless us but we have to be in a position to receive that blessing. We must be in expectation waiting to be blessed because God says he desires to bless us. We are supposed to wait expectantly, on tender hooks, looking and longing for him, craving for his favour and love, we are supposed to be in unbroken fellowship with him always, never leaving him to do our own thing as we often do; sad to say, I do this and probably so do you, but sorry heals that and we are in unbroken fellowship again. It is not too often someone is longing to be gracious to us, not humanly speaking of course, but God always wants to be gracious to us always because he loves us even more than we dare to dream or even believe. If only we could grasp the mind of God, a mind that is always stayed on us his very own children. We don t believe that we are so precious to God; we don t even think that he gives us much thought, and yet here we are being told that God earnestly desires to be gracious to us. We don t give God enough credit for his love for us, we don t understand how immeasurably he does love us, we can t even begin to comprehend how vast his love is, and we seem too preoccupied with God s anger, his judgment of us that we can t get past this way of thinking. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favour, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship The first point I wish to make here is that it is those who earnestly wait for him, those of us who expect, and that is the secrete here in receiving something from God, those who expect; His Victory, His favour, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship. If we expect nothing from God then we will get nothing! If we expect much from God then we shall get much. What causes God to lift himself up? Those who expect much from him; that scripture says; Blessed, happy and fortunate to be envied are all those who wait for him, wait for him to do what? To act, that s what. He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy

on you and show loving-kindness to you. If God goes to the trouble of lifting himself up, then he is doing it for a purpose and he is getting ready to bless us. But we have to be ready to receive that blessing and how do we do that? We expect him to be gracious to us because we are his own children and we give him praise and thanksgiving in advance of the blessings. I have robbed myself of many blessings over the years of my life because I did not expect God to get up and pour out a blessing on me; I never thought that he would want to do that for me, in putting himself out by getting up. Think about this how often does Almighty God get up to pour out a blessing on someone? He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you; and to me also. Imagine if you will, God sitting on his heavenly throne, and someone gets his attention, as he watches them he leans forward to get a better view and then he lifts himself up to see even more leaning over the balcony of heaven watching with interest to see the faith of that person in action and then he sends down a blessing on that person in response to what he saw. I never expected God to lift himself up show mercy to me or to bless me in any special way, and I have been so wrong, I have been restricting God from showering blessings down on me because of lack of expectancy. I understand now as I write this, that it has been me that has withheld the hand of God on my life in a big way. I was not expecting him to give me special things, gifts and powers for his glory. It wasn t that he didn t want to give me things but I have withheld his hand by my lack of expectation. These are things that I can resolve from this moment on, and so can you, by changing our thinking and expectations. Two you Look carefully at the beginning of this scripture; the Lord earnestly waits expecting, looking and longing, longing means craving, yearning, and pining to be gracious to you {meaning me}. He is waiting on me / you to expect him to be gracious to us, you and me. He waits expectantly, waiting to see if I expect him to help me, and he is looking and longing, craving for me to expect him to move on my behalf. He wants me to expect help in my times of need, he expects me to stretch myself out in faith; he is longing for me to do it, then he will come to my aid like a knight in shining armour a saviour to me when I finally expect him to come in power and strength and to be gracious to me. I have restricted the mighty hand of God by my lack of expectancy, I thought I was being humble waiting on God but I was waiting on God the wrong way. I should have been waiting expectantly on the miracles I asked for, the gifts and powers and ministry I sought with my whole heart; and all this time I was holding his hand back from giving those awesome things to me because of wrong thinking and expectancies. Maybe you also have been waiting on God for something and like me you believed that it was best to wait on God to be humble and if God wanted to he would open doors for me / you to minister in his holy name or not, or to just bless us.

All I ever wanted was to do his perfect will and nothing else. Instead I robbed myself of all this because in my desire to be humble I missed out on the realisation that I should have been expecting these things from God. I should have been expecting him to open those impossible doors, so that I could preach his word and lay hands on the sick and witness his Holy Spirit healing the sick and deformed, and marshal souls into heaven doing the works prepared for me from before time. you It wasn t faith I was lacking in, I knew I had faith, faith in the word of God that I had read, and I saw his mighty miracles happen through my faith; but I thought that I had to wait on God to open doors and to close doors as scripture declares. It wasn t faith that I lacked but expectancy for that ministry, for those healing services. And in truth the only worldwide ministry I desire in my heart is to have a ministry here in Ireland, this pagan country where religion has replaced relationship with God for the majority of its inhabitants, and now New Age practices are flooding into the Catholic churches in a large scale and I see it and hear of it and I still waited on God to open a door for me, oh how foolish I have been; I never realised what this scripture said until now. And from this day forward I am changing my thinking and believing and mostly my expectations. If God was waiting on me to act then he has awakened a sleeping giant who has lots of heartfelt desires to bring glory to his son and bring salvation to this pagan country. I will make my demands and commands in the name of Jesus as he said to do; I will declare that places throughout Ireland North and South will open wide for me from this moment on and I declare that in Jesus name. If he expects me and is looking for me, and longing to be gracious to me then Lord God, I declare from my mouth today, that I expect you to open those closed doors that had been closed to me, in Jesus name. This country is pagan in its practices and has rejected you because of religion and I come against all this evil of new age practices also in your wonderful name Jesus. I look for your victory lord, the victory you have already won for us and I now proclaim your victory is this moment. This is the day the lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it, and this is the day I wait expectantly on my God to fulfil his word, I now give you the opening you desired lord to bless me in your victory. Who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory Everything that happens to us is a chance to bring God s victory into it and to proclaim that as he said since future victory is sure. 1-Corinthians 15-57-The Way Bible 57- But thanks are to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58-Since future victory is sure. Be strong, steady, always abounding in the Lord s work. For you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever wasted. I was just planning to teach from the first scripture but I know for the benefit of those who are new to the word of God that I needed to include this scripture to show that they have the victory already arranged by God as part of the blessings he wants to pour out on us. And that they like me need to expect him to give us that victory because his word says it is sure and given to us by God himself through Jesus Christ the Messiah. What we are supposed to do in

every situation is to wait expectantly on God to act and that s all; and whilst waiting, we give him praise and worship and glory, and repeat that after the victory arrives. Three Who expect and look and long for Him {for His favour,} God delights in giving me his favour, he wants to bless me so I am in his favour, if he didn t wish to bless me then he would never have chosen me from before time even began-ephesians-1-4. I should expect his favour from now on; he is the one who created me to be! And that was to be his son, just like Jesus, and as scripture tells me that to be like someone means to be equal to, the same as, in the same vein; as the dictionary explains. And he says I am like his son Jesus equal to and in the same vein and made of the same substance as Jesus, and as Jesus received God s favour then so do I. God joined Jesus and I together as one and as God favours Jesus then he must also favour us.1-corinthians-6-17-we are joined together as one spirit with him, Jesus. Luke-2:52-King-James-Version and Jesus increased in wisdom and stature and in favour with God and man. If Jesus is in favour then so am I, as I am joined to him as one person; then it stands to reason that I also should long for and expect His favour, and mans favour also as I increase in wisdom by reading the written word of the living God. Who expect and look and long for Him {for His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship]! Who expect; this is the open secrete to miracle working power from God that is the secrete to healing power that is the secrete to wisdom from God that is the secrete to eternal life with God, that is the secrete to unbroken companionship with God, and having companionship with God I can then expect His peace, His Joy, His favour. A pregnant woman expects to have a baby after nine months of labour and she knows it will happen no matter what; nothing will ever stop that baby from being birthed and that is the same expectancy we should have; expectancy with God, after a time of gestation in his word the time for birthing has finally arrived and nothing will stop that from happening except our disbelief. And that time has arrived for me I know that for a fact because of this first scripture. I realise now it was my lack of expectancy that hindered God s hand from blessing me. Lack of faith is not the hindrance to receiving from God, it is lack of expectancy, we all have a measure of faith as God s word says, so we have faith, it is being expectant that causes the miracles to happen! We don t see the word of God from the Holy Spirits perspective, we read it from a worldly viewpoint and that does not bring revelation. When the Holy Spirit reveals things, hidden secretes, as scripture calls them, they are no longer hidden from us, secretes has been revealed, now what shall I do with what has been revealed? I must become expectant, remember I have

faith, but faith without action is useless. I actually have a portion of the mind of Christ and have the Holy Spirit teaching me what s in the mind of God. 1 Corinthians 2-10-Complete Jewish Bible (CJB) It is to us, however, that God has revealed these things. How? Through the Spirit, For the Spirit probes all things, even the profoundest depths of God. 11 for who knows the inner workings of a person except the person s own spirit inside him? So too no one knows the inner workings of God except God s Spirit. God shares his secretes through revelation from the Holy Spirit to us his own children who are made in his divine image, like himself. He shares those secretes with us to make us stronger against the enemy, to give us victory now and future victory. James-2-20-The Way Bible Fool when will you learn that faith without doing what God wants you to do is useless? We can have a mountain of faith inside us depending on how much faith the Holy Spirit has given us but it is useless if we don t act on it, if we don t expect heaven and earth to move because of our faith our expectancy. Without faith you cannot please God; but God has given us faith so we are pleasing to him, but the question is what are we doing with our expectancies? When the man whose son was ill, he asked Jesus to help him overcome his unbelief. If scripture says he asked Jesus for help, then we can also ask for help with our unbelief. If scripture says it we can also do it. Mark-9:24-New-International-Version Immediately the boy s father exclaimed, I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief! Jesus said in response to the disciple s question, why couldn t we cast that demon out? He replied cases like this require prayer. In other words they were not sufficiently praying and with expectancy, and they would have heard the father ask Jesus to help him overcome his unbelief. We also need to ask the Father to help us overcome our own unbelief; this will bring Jesus glory when the Father answers our hearts humble prayer. Isaiah -30-18- Amplified Bible you; I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief! This is my prayer, make it yours also. God is longing to help us overcome unbelief and that comes through testing and trials, {an instance of trouble or hardship, especially one that tests somebody's ability to endure} that is how our faith and belief grows. God wants us to succeed he wants to be gracious to us; he

wants you to overcome unbelief with belief, he is longing for us to ask so that he can impart grace to us, to be gracious. We please God when we expect him to act in whatever situation we find ourselves in, it is that expectation that makes the difference in our faith walk. Remember there are two sides to belief, I believe that God is good; or I believe that God is bad. I believe in miracles; or I don t believe in miracles. Believing is a two way thing, we either believe one thing, or we believe the opposite, and believing is a choice that we make all by ourselves, no one can believe for us, it is impossible. With God s desire to be gracious to us we can seek to have our faith and belief expanded, just like the man whose son was possessed by the demon, and God will grant us that request because it will help us and help others, he leans over the balcony to see if we are stretching ourselves further than ever before. When God says all he said in this scripture; Isaiah -30-18- Amplified Bible you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show lovingkindness to you. He means it, every word; he sincerely is waiting expecting us to act boldly, to be confident in his love for us, that he will lift himself up expecting to bless us abundantly. We Christians have never really understood the love of God or that love that he has for us; it sails over the top of our heads that God sacrificed his only son Jesus, just to have an increase in children us; he sacrificed Jesus for us, to love us in the same way he loved Jesus. We say it but we don t believe the height, the depth, the length, the breadth of his love, but God desires to reveal that love in these the latter days. Ephesians 3-16-King James Version (KJV) 16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. This is what God desires to bless us with, now! To be strengthened by his spirit in our inner man, our spirit. That we being rooted and grounded in Love, his love, to know and experience his divine love for ourselves, to know his love in all its circumferences each moment of our lives and this is what God lifts himself up to see if someone wants this blessing and expects it to happen to them. He wants us to know the fullness of his divine love which up until now was out of our reach but is now clearly available to us, so that we can be filled with the fullness of God, and receive our blessings. Four

You can limit God in blessing you. Psalm 78-41-King James Version (KJV) 41 Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. {from giving them his blessings. The Way Bible} Sad to say I know I have limited God in his ability to bless me in the past, it wasn t because he didn t want to bless me but he couldn t because of my lack of expectancy, I didn t expect him to do something for me, that person that I was. We Christians don t realise that we limit God in being able to bless us by our lack of understanding as to who and what he is, - a loving father, - a loving God, who loves us beyond what we can even understand. His love is unlimited but our love limits him, it does not believe that we are loved so intensely or deeply with a passion. We see scripture that says God takes care of us, or does not a single sparrow fall to the ground that the Father does not know about, and if all the hairs on our heads are counted that s how much he loves us. Imagine loving someone so deeply that you even know the amount of hair on their head and know when a hair falls out, or like mine when many have fallen out, lol. Matthew-10:30-Contemporary-English-Version even the hairs on your head are counted. Wow! God even knows the total amount of hair there is on my head, he took the trouble to check each hair, one by one, and that s love for you! Who would go to all that trouble to examine each hair to know how many there actually are; only someone who truly loves us, and that someone is God. I used to be too busy counting my faults and failings to even notice that scripture which went over my head litterly. This is a God who desires to be gracious to us. Such love, He counts the hairs on my head, no one can love me like that, and someone like that earnestly desires to be gracious to us his own children. I no longer wish to limit him in what he wishes to do for me by my lack of expectancy; I am loved with intensity beyond my understanding, and so are you. Amen
